Hey Lyle you should've bought my old radiator you wouldnt have this problem lol
I had the same problem when I upgraded my radiator, it ended up running 12 degrees hotter and overheating, check your radiator cap as some times there not the best fit for aftermarket radiators, my seal was gone and that was my problem.
I was told if the pressure in the radiator isnt at the correct psi the lower the psi the hotter the car will run, so I bought a new radiator cap and all is good, car runs at 85 degrees max on a hot day...hope this helps.
Lyle I'll call you so we can go out cruising next thursday night.
yo mike,
man i would have loved to grabed your old radiator but it deffinately would not fit.... need space for the turbo yo... I got one exactly the same as the one you have now or very similar, same dimension as the stocko but just alu and thicker! but yeh i got the bubbles out and yeh its still running a little warmer then standard, but also i am running my standard shroud and fan and you got thermos yeh 2 of them? soo there could be a few things i could do. But yeh when we hook up next give me some pointers and hopefully its just somethin small. Give us a call a sap. Cheers bro
Besides i gotta have the chance to hand you ass too you... ;)
haha I'll give you a head start...Oh and I'm only running the factory fan atm I havnt installed my other fans yet, they'll go in once the other engine is droped in, also my fan kicks in at a lower temp than usual factory setting that helps alot.
how do you get it kickn in at a lower temp? easy to DIY or is it envolv ****ing around alot?, also bro my best mate ash with 17son comes back this week worked to all hell.... you will like, we should all hook up and go for a boosted civic cruise
You can buy an after market thermostat that opens up at a lower temperature than a factory unit allowing the coolant to flow through your engine sooner reducing coolant temperature.
I just had a switch installed so that I can turn the fan on when ever I like, theres a little f@#king around but worth it.
Boosted Civic cruise sounds sweet.
u shouldnt overheat on stock internals, doesnt matter about boost. Check your radiator cap, make sure its good. Otherwise get your waterpump checked out or its your headgasket. its pretty simple really. eliminate each component one by one.
Hell yeh bro sounds like the go, will speak to you tomozza or somethin
and that switch idea sounds good i may install one myself, CHeers for the insite mate

hey when i open the radiator cap and start the car.. after a while, the coolant starts spilling out of (before the radiator fan turns on).. should i just let the coolant pumping out??? or it's not normal?
yep its normal. it will rise and then fall soon after whent he thermostat opens (if its not bleed).
Just turn the cap halfwayQuote:
