thrust bearings stop your crank from moving from side to side. if you gonna open up your motor you might you might as well replace replace everything because itll stop you from doing it later on and it will give you piece of mind.
definately replace the oil and water pump - why- cos they are two of the most important parts on your car.
i am building my b18c and i replaced everything and youll be surprise how it cheap is.
a full gasket kit is cheap. PM me if you want one.
Yeah that’s correct thrust bearings stop the crank moving side to side, 2 half moon bearings for the B engines.
But yeah replace replace replace replace do it correctly the 1st time, how would you feel if your whole engine went bang… just because you didn’t replace a 50$ part.
Build it right the first time, have it built by someone who knows what there doing the 1st time, same goes for porting and polishing, have it done by a expert, not just someone who says that can do it.

i just checked the various bearings they're only like 100 for the WHOLE SET from usa... so yeh might as well thanks for the advice on that one again

hmmm whole set of bearings for $100 that seems wrong.
Bearings need to be matched exactly to your rod crank and block. EXACTLY. You can’t pre order bearings from over seas, and ONLY use Honda bearings.
Honda have colour coded bearings specifically for every application, depending on clearances. This is something that MUST be matched up by a expert engine builder not something you order off the net.
Honestly road bearings around 30$ per half shell, and you need 8 of them
Crank bearings are around 40$ per half shell and you need 10 of them
Thrust bearings around about 40$ each, and you need two of them
Expect to pay over 500$ for bearings.

one more thing... i'm going to hong kong at the end of year. I dont know if u guys are aware but parts, even in the most REPUTABLE shops in HK are at least 20%-25% cheaper than in australia.
i know Hong Kong = dodgey pirated japanese porn + taiawanese imo stuff for most ppl, but if u go to the right places ('ll have a friend take me) u can score bargains
y the hell is australia so expensive? i'm not chukcing rocks at aussie traders but EK9 pistons cost $600 with rings here. in usa, not ebay but large online shops its shipped to your door for like $350 ish... and thats not even trade price,thats open to the publci price

The USA has a much larger HONDA market than Australia with A LOT more aftermarket support.
yep i got rods and pistons for around 1k shipped. came with arp bolts. all bearings and stuff the machine shop measured and ordered directly from honda.
thats not a bad price at all, which pistons did you get?
how many bearings did u end up buying weq? have u seen the "set" sold by Toga?
