yer i wanna go tirbo but just i saw on high octane overboost they did this to the crx-recon the engine and made it to a 1.8L and then turboed it and was making 273kwatw on 17psi and was making 170 sumthin at 9psi i think so i thought making my eningine to a 1.8 then turboing it would have a huge power increse?? yes?? no?? please help on this!!

stroking kit (if u can source one) - $2k probably more
plus price of turbo and upgrading internals..
your in for alot of money...
might as well dump the d-series and go for a b18 or something
just turbo your D series engine - there are lots of examples in the US and abroad runnign good numbers - also our local hero Weq has a vti with a nice turbo setup being worn in as we speak :)
if u have money to burn..........get the intake manifold (Not taking about CAI), stage 3 cam shaft, valve spring, priston, polish engine, e-manage or buddy club spec A computer, should be good at 170-180hp @ 8500rpm.....Hear the engine scream.....and beat other car by your NA power! Thats the spirit of VTEC~
I havent see ANY people in Australia done this on the their SOHC VTEC engine.....if u do that u can be on the mag cover for sure!:D
yer sounds sik but itd cost like 10grand so i dunno wat to do! i love revin the car past 5000rpms n just watching the tacho go from slow to fast but i love the sound of the turbo so anybody no what i should do ill have bout 5-7grand to play with

get a turbo kit man and then a turbo cam, gear and springs retainer, thatll eat up that budget pretty quick if u want LOL.
this sounds good... going back to the old skool days of vtec... small capacity and all about the revving hehehe... making me tempted hehehe...Quote:

Why would you want to stroke an engine that already has a very long stroke for its capacity??
A D16A8 has 75mm bores and 90mm stroke. This means to stroke it further would make piston speeds ridiculously high and the engine wouldn't rev well.
