security in a dc4

i just recently bought my car as well, and with the alarm system the previous owner had in it was pretty much screwed. it was there and all but just didnt make any sound. say i mess with the car and all my car does is flash its hazards and stays silent :(

i juz bought a VIPER alarm system with 2 point immob. n now i just gotta find sumtime n sumone to install it (with work n stuff in the way).

u should seriously invest in a good alarm system itz just not worth coming back to ur car with it not being there or been broken into :eek: ...
thatz y i know it was money well spent on the viper alarm n wen itz installed i'll sleep easier :p

well I know with VTIRs the 96 onwards came with immobiliser. I missed out lol. I had to have 3 point immobilisation for my insurer. As for the gsi - not sure if immobilisation was standard, or was an extra.

Do as the others have said, check with your insurer and its always best to have a bit of security.

actually point taken spunkymonkey, i do think gsi immob come extra, but anyways thanks for the advice i ll call up the insurance company when i get money to possibly buy a new immobilizer, any brand suggestions like what are the alpines of immobilizers? :p

I've got a mate that installs alarms, so I can refer you to him if you like.

I originally got the brant 3 point immobiliser..but brant are now defunct lol...but I'm sure my mate can recommend something for you. PM if you want his details.
