Does anyone know which honda engines (all engines for that matter) are "interference" type and which are not? From what I've read, most if not all Honda motors are "interference" type which means valves will clash with pistons if a timing belt breaks. cheers
I purchase Gates Timing belt think it was $100, they have a long life and is alot stronger and thicker material. Is guratee to run 120,000kms before change.
i changed my timing belt at 140k km... it looked fine upon closer inspection too ;)

most twin cam engines are not forgiving
but I have fixed the following with incorect valve timing with no bent valves, timming was 2 to 4 teeth out
89 Ledgend
86 Integra
88 Lude,
94 Ledgend
dont know how far they can go out before they bend valves, most of the time it 4 or so teeth max, but I only have seen the D15 civics snap belts and survive, 88-91 Ludes are the worst, wont take much at all.
