I read a thread on here about fuel filters, someone said they only got about 3XX out of a tank and after they hanged their fuel filter they were getting around 500 k's.

it's going to depend a heap on where you drive - city driving and sitting in stop start traffic is going to use a lot more petrol than breezing along a freeway for an hour
any impurities in the petrol, like gunky that builds up over time will sit at the bottom of your tank - so best off if you keep filling it up, so you use nice happy petrol, rather than the murky shit at the bottom. I think this'd matter a lot more for cars which are old though.
My petrol lights buggered - it flashes on when there's at least 15-20 litres still in there.. then goes away until maybe 10 litres is left? then it stays on. But it has a bit of trouble starting when it gets low - and when its really low, like on 10, man, it freaks me out, keep thinking the battery's died again :P
I only get bout 300-350kms too!
i get around the 350 mark just changed to splitfire leads new coil and plugs no difference it dun matter what fuel either but feels better with optimax
I got 455kms out of 42 litres when I filled up mine last time... works out to be about 9.2L/100km, and that included a lot of around town driving...
Yeh, it makes a big difference if your driving is mainly highway or city, driving style too. hehe, Canberra isn't too much of a city really (not much stop start driving).
I did look up what the average fuel consumption was though (according to honda) and it's between 6 (highway) and 8 (city) litres per hundred k's, ;) Just a point of reference if you guys think you should be getting better economy.

ive got a 95 vtir dc2
Mine varies on driving still.
But on average with both city and highway and hooning, I get about 350k's out of a full tank. I find that really shocking.
Imagine if I had turbo! :P
I get about 370 (being naughty) up to 460km per tank.
i tens to get aboyut 440K's per tank, that was before i serviced it and with abit of redlining, but since i serviced it this tank i ahve now is right on half way and i have done almost 300K's, so i am happy about that, looking at about 570 or so Ks for the tank, which works out awesome, which is 7.3L per 100K's but chances are i'll boot it abit and i wont get the 575K's, so it is worth changing ya oil in ya car it's helps alot!!!
