I suggest you ditch it and get a b series  d15b is sooo slow and eats fuel like crazyQuote:

keep the d15b
Rip off the old intake and put some mini K&N pod filters, strait off the carbs. Get a nice header and 2" mandy catback exhaust. Then get someone to tune the carbs. Will run sick!
how much will that all cost, me and my mate drive round in it a bit so it would be good to have a bitta extra power but dont wanna be spending heaps on it
450 for header
3 hunge for catback
umm and prolly lik 120 for two air filters
where do i get a catback from that cheap, i saw headers on ebay for 250 or so, but midas quoted me 280 fo an axleback, is that right?
midas = poo
Um well being from perth i cant answer that.
Header and filters can be bourght from traders on this forum.
ok then thanks for that i might invest in some filters, but i need an amp first:)
For the love of god, ignore the idiots that say "CHANGE TO B16 !!!12211one221" It's very expensive and hardly worth it in the end. You're best to ignore Everything they say.
To me it sounds like you rather a good audio system rather than beefy engine performance. Considering ur mum bought it, you probably dont wanna spend thousands on improving performance.
Get a decent audio system first, then think about the engine.
If you want a cheap but powerful subwoofer, get the Adire Shiva.

This sub is actually better than most brand-name subs, but at half the cost! Believe me, this sub is freekin awesome!
btw Dont get Sony speakers or Amps - they are terrible.
PM me if you want recommendations - I know this stuff ;)
A B16A conversion would cost thousands - probably more than the car is worth. You must ask yourself if its actually feasible to upgrade an 89' car. IMO you are better off saving your money for now and get a later model Si/Vti Civic/CRX with lower KM's, newer shape, and a faster engine that wont require $$$ to improve performance that you will be happy with.
hi, i already have a sub, clarion dual voice coil, SWR1283, im thinkin of getting the new 2006model monoblock ampQuote:
