Has anyone driven the new Civic sport 2L?

The K20Z in the 2.0L civic has i-VTEC with DOHC. The VTC is on the intake cam only, and VTEC is also only on the intake cam. Think of it like the Thai Accord 2.4's engine but with only 2.0L.

The engine is actually not bad. Think of it, 114kW from a 2.0L, that's 57kW/L. The Euro's K24A3 with i-VTEC on both intake and exhaust cams makes 140kW from 2.4L to give 58.3kW/L. Not sure about the compression ratio of the K20Z, but since it is a low revver, then it should be lower than the K24A3's 10.5:1. So to me, Honda's matched a performance 2.4L's kW/L output using just an economy engine setup!

I disagree. You get leather interior in the civic for that price, plus the civic, dimensions wise, is almost as big as the accord. Power isn't everything either.....

After the test drive however, I believe it makes very good use of its 114kw :)

I didn't think the 2L sport came in manual, I thought they are only selling it in auto with paddle shift.

The 6th gen 1.6L Civic VTi (with CVT) that I bought in Aug 1996 already had double wishbone suspensions on both front and rear.
The 2.0L is a DOHC. See the car at the motor show or look at the photos in the forums.
Typo errors are common. For example, in the www.hondacivic.com.au website, the 1.8L VTi-L doesn't have any audio controls on the steering wheel. But I saw the car at the motor show, checked the detailed brochure spec and found that it had the controls.

It's 3 stage vtec. Saw 2 selenoids next to the engine on motor show.

WOw, which dealer has the euro for that much drive away price?

The 2L civic is Twin Cam.

Wonder if I can ask for the euro luxury mags to go on the civic.......hhahaha.

Anyone know the fuel consumption diff between the euro and civic?

Euro was pretty shocking if you fang it around. I'm used to small motors.

Euro does 11-12 L/100km in the city and 6-7 L/100km on the highway. Averages to about 9-10 for the usual mix.

If both had the same price, I'd go for the Euro, seriously. $33000 for a manual base is reasonable. I got $34000 for my manual base back in 2004.

was it $34K drive away back then for you though?

I guess I can't really compare till I drive the civic on sat.

I still kinda like the polo gti or the pug 180 ........for the go and handling but their much smaller cars.

Just received a letter in the mail from the dealer to ask me go test drive...mmmmmmm

I must say pictures dont do the car any justice you have to see it in real life inside and out it is a great piece of car, although i believe the sport could do with a spoiler matching to mugen civic dominator and a set of 17" or 18" wheels. Yes they are in 5 speed manual and auto i was priced drive away in newcastle $31000 M and $33500 A. I am serously considering purchacing one within in the next year. The black leather is the better looker
