i dunno what my chamber is, have to look that up.
When i was about to install it, the suspension guy warned me about possible scrubbing on my rear and said my front would probably be ok. But then it's my front instead of my rear.

Mate, I got exactly the same problem with ths 17s on my EK1. I had to roll the rear guards, but they guys who did it reckoned they couldn't do the front ones.Quote:

When I get it back I'll post up how they did it.
Exactly the same as mine, and I can tell you it isn't too big. There are many civics out there with bigger/wider rims, it's just that they've probably modded the guards a bit to get the wheels to fit properly.Quote:

That didnt eleviate the scrubbing? Any idea on what they were charging to fix the guards?Quote:

u must haf lowered much more then u fink?
hey all
yeah i got an Ek1 with 17" didn't have that rubbin issue only when i turned the whole way right only tho.....but then i had the crash n they had to raplce the front left....now i'm gettin rubbage a fair bit to....keep us posted seems to be an issue n always freaks me out wen it happens haha
DomenEK: The rear guard is not the plastic one is it? My scrubbing sounds like it comes from the front.
mrwillz: I fitted lovell sport low which lower the car by about 30 mm from factory height. The suspension guy said if I go for super low, will defntly scrub.
FLIP86: It happens occasionally though. When I turned fully left normally, sometime it rubs sometime it doesn't. I agree with you, it also freaks me out specially when the tyres are new and still shiny.
Zdster: my chambers are
Left front: -0.8deg, Right Front: -1.3deg, Left Rear: -1.2deg, Right rear:-1.3deg
Front Cross chamber: 0.5deg
yea like i sed, it may haf lowered more then 30mm that u 'claim'
thats y u haf the scrubbing...
Yeh I have the same problem. Only when i turn.. But I know for a fact if you slam it down around the cornor.. you wont feel that rubbing anymore.. hehehehhe.. Please try in dry weather....
my front wheels are inside my guard, it used to rub bad but i cut the mud guards underneath and now its abit better but i still get running on bare metal on full lock when going on bumps. thats the price u gotta pay for lowering ur car, u'll get over it believe me :)
everytime i hear the sound of scrubbing, i have $200 and my shiny tyres on my mind
I rolled the rear guards, and that stopped the scrubbing I had on the rear wheels when I first lowered the car. The front ones were not too bad, I just cut the plastic and it seemed to fix the problem in most circumstances. But since I got all new polyurethane bushes installed, it seems to have exacerbated the scrubbing at the front.Quote:

civicCXI:
The rear guards are not plastic - see above. My scrubbing comes from the front too, mainly on the passenger side, but if I do a hard left hand turn, or go over a bump while turning left, then the drivers side scrubs as well.
i have come to the conclusion its all part and part of having a lowered car, so i have just dealt with it and cringe everytime i hear it :(
