Ok thanks guys, we have a bit of discrepancies here, barefootbonzai, can you elaborate a bit when you are saying “you can tell from the gearbox code”?
After a quick search seems like your talking about an entirely different thing, and a little mixed up. You're talking about the big ass stamp on the box while i'm talking about the gearbox code on the label. The gearbox will still be either S80 or Y80, but may have a big as stamp (faded off most of the time) will contain the N3E if it's the 98 spec ITR box. Here's an example... http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?threadid=44962Quote:

Fantastic!!!
I guess we're all assuming you're comparing JDM 96 & 98 spec as AUDM was first sold in 99.
Yes I am, the engine starts with something like B18C2******
hmmm.... if the engine you saw started with b18c2 it's a Aus spec VTiR
becarful.. be very careful
Ok from what have researched over the net, audm itr’s engine code starts with something like B18c7******, usdm itr’s engine code starts with something like B18c5*******, and jdm itr and vtir start either with a code of B18c1******* or B18c2*******, if that’s not correct, can anyone tell me what’s the correct code for jdm itr?
simply "B18C".Quote:
