in the worst case, how much is the value gap adjustment usually cost?
when i bought my car second hand from a dealership it had a similar noise. Took it to honda for a service and an inspection. They removed 6 bent valves. 3k later, all good. Hope you aint bought a lemon like me.

Funny you should mention that, it is the precise feeling I always get when talking to any sales person, very polite but the balloon above their heads saysQuote:

I told them I was an engineer as well with many years experience in designing aircraft engines and I'll take full (in writing) responsibility for whatever happens... in the end they bascially said we'll do it but they won't fix any engines problems under warrenty if it does come up. so I said fine I dont wana service my car today and left. I took it to another mechanic down the road who does lots of Bemmers and Audi's and he said he gets a lot of honda customers cause they r fed up with honda prices and service. Anway it all worked out ok in the end.. I will never be going back to a honda dealer and if something does need to be fixed under warrenty, the mechannic says he deals with the dealers himself to get it done so I dont have to worry about it. I hope not everyones experience with honda is as bad as mine !!! cause appart from the dealers, the car is the best I have driven so far !!! :)
There is a socket behind the front left wheel where you turn/crank the engine manually using a long breaker bar to move the pistons/valves 180 degrees to position the tappets for proper adjustment.Quote:

Good on you for going somewhere else  Many Honda owners would just take the dealer line and back down. If i was you I would call up the Honda Customer Care number and complain.Quote:
