ohhh im so unlucky. :-(
how many ks has your car done?
What is that mechanic talking about? A Bendix gear is the component which engages the teeth on the engine flywheel ring. If the Bendix gear is broken, it certainly does not mean your crank shaft is broken!!! and you certainly do not need to change the drive shaft, much less the flywheel.Quote:

Reckon you've been fed alot of bull shit. I'd spend a bit more and get the car towed to a more reliable mechanic. Penny wise pound foolish.
You're on the wrong side of the engine...Quote:

LOL, starter motor is on the cam gear side of the engine. Accessory pulleys are on the other end. Wrong info dude. Don't assume that everyone elses problem is the same as yours.Quote:

Im gonna get it checked out by another mechanic, but the NRMA guy said it was the starter motor. The Auto electrician says its the engine, pretty weird especially when i changed the timing belt and do services every 5k. Anyways, let us know if youve managed to damage your flywheel or anything similiar happen to you, howd you fix the problem ?
Seriously, get your car towed to Hannys, and get it diagnosed. You won't find out what is wrong without pulling off the gearbox and looking at the flywheel. All people can give you are guesses in this case since you can't be sure til you open it up.Quote:
