Used Honda MTF with the Quaife in the EK4 and will continue to use it.
I would do the same with a OEM LSD too.
i used castrol syntrix and the shifting is smooth
its just that i am using mtf at the moment.. its not gripping like i think it would ..
no specs on the jap spec vti lsd.. so dunno wat type or lsd it is..
might b a viscous lsd.. so mite not matter wat kidn of mtf im using...
redline gearbox oil is awsome, i never tried anything better before, it actualy shifting smoother and doesent crunch
All OEM lsd's 'dont grip like they should' IMO. Waste of money and just bling factor. All the ones ive driven are just bearly better then a open diff... Helical style all the way. Grips like a mofo.

If it was a clutch type, then definately there is significant changes in the characteristics of how the diff locks between different types of fluids, as the the friction between the plates changes.
yeah it could b clutch or cone type if its aftermarket.. but yeah im thinking its either helical or viscous..
if only someone new.. coz if its viscous i could change viscous fluid coz it would b a sealed unit... but helical is bit diff...
damn adrian u should have told me to buy a clutch one :D
