ive spent too much now anyway, the rebuild for the b18 was 2.5k with a swap of my engine, the crower cams was 1500, the install for cams was 1000, intake+exhaust was around 800, ECU was 2k. all up thats 7800! it was my fault not properly researching and jumping onto things which i thought would be good.
its my fault and i dont blame anyone else, but if i knew id get out a loan and spend so much on my car then i would of definitly looked into b18c/b20b/k20 or whatever, but yeh, what if what if what if :P
If you ask me you made the right choice just think about it your not playing follow the internet crowd and you have done something completely different to what they would do,WHO ****ING CARES what they say and think.Keep up the good work I think the power is good and I would be happy to own and drive it around.
Regards Dyno Dave
the other issue is that whilst you may have spent 7800 all up, not everyone has that cash up front.
i might spend 10k on my engine over the course of 12 months, and every man and his dog will say errr, get a k20 you n00b.
but i will say no, because i spent the money GRADUALLY, and cbf waiting the 12months to save it all.
also, its good to do things one at a time, eg rebuild, THEN cams, THEN exhaust, or whatever order you want, because it allows you to see the difference each addition makes. you get a better appreciation for how they work and become wiser for it. lets face it, we're all going to own many cars over our lives, there will be plenty of opportunities to try things later.
 for DOHC Power
bro post up a dyno slip...
and yeah don't get cut about it... event hough we drive high revving hondas it's not always about chasing peak power...
drivability wise i bet is a lot better... and i'm guessing you got a fatter midrange?
I reckon you've done well bro. There's a big difference between spending a bit at a time and a whole lot at once. The 2 shouldn't really be comparable, cause it always looks bad when you add up costs of a slow gradual build. But for most it's the only way to go.
As for k20 conversion, yes it's great but i doubt many people of $12k+ to blow all in one go. ($8K doesn't not cover a k20 swap, that bearing covers a JDM front cut)
Awesome work dude props to ya, maybe a descent set of headers next? let those stage 2's realy shine! if you havnt got them already
Congrats man!
Looks like you're doing some good work, and i'm glad to see someone sticking with the b18a instead of losing heart (sorry, bad joke) and just getting a transplant. Hope you enjoy it.
e-five.
i didnt read every word in every post, but is this car running stock B18 headers?
awesome power if so!
