Air con belt. Cheaper and easier.
^ Corrrect. Theres 3 belts located there, Air con, power steering & alternator. $14 bux each. best to replace all 3 belts all in one go.
btw...do NOT use wd40
use proper belt lubricant such as belt grip
auto stores sell the stuff
lol....tats not ur timing belt mate its ur drive belts....
incorrect simon, ahhahaahah,
there is only 1 belt that the arrow is pointing to.
lol. just being a picky bastard. lol.
that belt there is the power steering
the one underneath it, is the a/c one.
and the one towards the back, is the alternator.
the power steering one is the easiest one to change, but you probably don't have to change it, just re-tension it.
but if your gonna change one, chances are, you might as well change the others.
lol.
Found that normally retensioning an old belt only lasts a few weeks.
WD40 works for like a day and then the noise gets worse.
THe belt lubs will work for a few days but it only gets worse also.
a new belt is the best way to ensure that its quite for a long long time.
And at $14 like above stated its more worth the trouble.
last time my motor was making noise it was the Power steering belt was loose. it made like a squeaky noise.
