The car has only been serviced by Honda mechanics.
Got the car from Hornsby Honda. The car was sitting in the dealership showroom for a few months before sold to me but it's not a demo.
It's my mum's car, she always warmed it up before she drives off gently and none of our new honda cars have problems like this.
there's no oil stain on the floor, suggesting that the oil is burn off.
car has done 14000 kms now.
I run in the new cars (had run in at least 4 new cars) properly the same way, none of my new cars had any problems like this and they were very healthy even though their milage got high.
Sounds like it could be a fault in the engine from the factory.
Take it to the dealer for warranty repair
You must use what is specified in the manual.
I think this is the chart (it is off the Euro service manual):

I have 06 Euro and no problems with oil consumption. I agree that you should get it looked at by the dealer as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the more "wiggle room" you leave for Honda to do nothing / blame you.
If you have
- Used oil that meets Honda's requirements
- Had it serviced "properly" at the correct intervals
- Not "abused" the engine (e.g. racing, over revving)
- Run it in properly (bedded in the rings)
- Don't have lots of modifications e.g. super charger ;)
(and it appears that this car is OK on these points) then you have a good case. Have seen various threads on www.acurazine.com forums discussing cases like this and the posters usually get it sorted (rebuilt engines under warranty) but for them it can be a struggle to get there. If I remember correctly, one was for a user under the name of sauceman who had a "long engine" rebuild after proving excessive oil consumption. He was at 141,500 miles (226,000 km) in his 03 TSX as of January 06) so it can be OK after a rebuild !
Hope yours is easier.
Yes I have stuck to the things above,
1. all oils were changed by honda service and they used FEO only.
2. it was only serviced earlier than later as i'm anal about my cars,
3. mum drives it. Track days is my Type R's duty, the euro is given the luxary treatment,
4. I believe it was run in property, i ran it in just like my Type R, which has no problem at all. Gave it some load progressively without going hard on it. Although the car sat in the dealership for 4-5 months before I bought it, I dun think it is a demo, cos it doesn't have much kms on it anyway,
5. euro is totally stock.
I will book for the next service asap and see what is causing the problem.
i have a stupid question...
does parking outside all the time exposing the car to weather has anything to do with engine oil consumption?
