Hi
Im in the market for new lights to replace my civics current oem ones.
My research has led me to choose between.
Philipis X treme power
Osram Breaker
Philips Blue vision.
Which do you think is the better of the 3? Im also concerned about how they perform in the rain as i know this is an issue with other Halogen lights.
thanks.
Top effort for searching!
I'm not experienced with the bulbs like dsp26, but what i can say is that if you're concerned about rain performance, it's commonly believed that the bluer spectrum tends to reflect back in rain, so essentailly if you wanted perfect night vision, you'd use pure yellow (much like street lighting)
used xtreme power. def. alot brighter than what i used to have.
i think it might be oem bulb.
Out of all those lights you mentioned, the Philips XTreme are the best...
I found that the ones that really make a difference are the Osram Rallye 65W. You can buy them from the candlepower store.
If you want something really bright you have the option to upgrade your wiring harness and put some Osram 100W bulbs in and they are just crazy!
Thank you everyone for the advice I really appreciate it.
My civic is a 96 cxi and I do occasional night driving just basic things so I'm not looking for the top range ones just best bang for buck.
I was hoping to buy either the osram night breaker plus or x treme vision ATM since they seem better value but another issue I can't find out is life span. The price difference is almost double so I'm lost as to which to pick.
Thanks.
XTremes last longer than the NightBreakers.
Don't bother with angel lights, they are crap...

OK looks like im going to buy a set of philips xtremes for my normal driving lights
and philips blue vision 5w for my parkers.
What do you mean angel lights are crap ? do they not improve lighting? i do like the look of them though.
Also Just to clarify the civics low beam lights are H4 correct?
Yes EK civics use H4 for low/high beam.
Just be careful of which wattage you select.
A 55w globe at 12v will draw 4.58A.
A 65w globe at 12v will draw 5.41A
A 100w globe at 12v will draw 8.33A
Where most wiring in a car is not rated above 7.5 amp for continuous operation.
If you exceed this the wiring will literally melt and cause some very serious issues.
Also remember the higher wattage the more light but also the more heat generated.....which leads to more melted wiring, plugs and plastic headlights.....
