Speaking of the steering, when I trashed (oops I mean test drive) a VTi I didn't notice any of those weird feeling you guys have talked about. Is it just me or I didn't drive it for long enough (only 20 minutes) to notice that weird feeling about the steering?

yeah of course it sucks after u spend all your time on a S15........i had same feeling after i had the jazz but......a nice 18" will help u find some of the feeling

I had a 93 Civic Si before I bought the Jazz VTi-s. I noticed the difference straight away between hydralically assisted and electric assisted.
* Electric assistance doesn't self centre as strongly. It requires a little effort to get is winding back to centre.
* When slowing down from say 60km/h to standstill, and trying to park, I noticed that the steering weighting was REALLY hard. When coming to a stop, it must take like a 1 second to re-adjust the weight for car-parking negotiation.
My 2 cents...Overall though, I do prefer electric steering as it has a much better feel from lock to lock. There are no lumpy moments!

the jazz could just be better off without power steering... removed the whole unit.. and you should get better steering feel..=)
-
then again .. if there is no PS, I won't have bought one.. :)
The PS on the Jazz is just fine.. just need time to get use to...
-
i like the PS on the jazz..makes it feel so effortless...but i assumed it was this light because its a small car?
-
yeah probably.. the eps on accord euro is bloody heavy.
but still. it could be more fun drivingt the jazz wtihout ps and abs

You are right man!I got the same feeling. As the website introduction about eps.
The steering is lighter at low speeds, firmer at high.
Benefits include:
Reduced fuel consumption since there is no engine-driven pump
Compact dimensions and reduced weight
Greater programming flexibility
Smoother operation with reduced kickback.

Being as the power steering is electronic it is changeable. The 2006 JDM facelifted Fit has had the feel of the PS adjusted. I'm amazed by the fuel saving electronic power steering gives over hydraulic.
-
Do you know if it is easy to adjust??

I doubt the program would be easy to get into. Not like you can easily retune the rest of the car yourself without all the right gear.
Gone are the days of carbies and engine bays you could climb into easily to get to everything.
