I know of an insight that runs mid 9's in the US. Was on one of those ignition DVD's.
A performance company in the states built a car that was running 6's FWD N/A 1000HP 4cyl MOPAR motor (Custom built motor)....... custom chassis etc... full tube frame.. it was in streetmachine last year... ill see if i can dig up any more info... Theres also a CRX in the states the runnin a big block 454 chev with an 871 poppin outa the bonnet, one of the honda dealerships built it not sure wat its runnin etc but i definately kno it would b very fast

that was back in the day... i love that guy..
Still love to get the lowdown... Some interesting stories so far. I can't afford Super Street mags anymore... Must be someone with links to the states who knows! Pretty sure the N/A FWD record is still in the 9's! Also pretty sure the overall FWD record is still in VERY low 7's - a Chevy Cobalt or some other Nth American model. I like the MOPAR engine story.... still I'd love to see some confirmed numbers or a website to check out the records!
Anyone got Steve Papadakis' number??? (lol!) Although I heard he's into drift now...
OK, tried one last Google search and found this...

Also this...

Here's a grab from that site...
One of the most popular and widely recognized drivers on the circuit, Gardella also set both ends of the national record in October at Englishtown, N.J. establishing the e.t. mark at 7.159 seconds and the top speed record at 202.79 mph. Because of long established rules on how national records are set, Gardella's Red Bull Chevy Cobalt actually went quicker and faster than his record setting marks posting a 7.156 elapsed time at Indianapolis and a 209.59 mph top speed at Dallas.

Still... love to know the quickest H car, too!!! Chevy probably has more interest in pouring money in right now!
Impressive car though! Nearly as quick as, and faster in mph than all aussie rwd rotors! Only a second off the 3000hp doorslammers I saw last sunday too!
that was bisi of bisimoto engineering, and it was an f22a powered insight. its a brilliant piece of engineering. how many of you guys can brag about an sohc non-tec 2.2L making 435hp?
check out http://www.syntectopshop.com/superst...s/6253862.html where bisimoto has been invited into the superstreet top shop challenge, where's he's going to build another f22a motor. keeps things interesting on the NA FWD tuning market.
you guys are all silly.
