they recommend not to... but if your gunna end up sitting at the lights
after doing the neutral roll up to the lights then it should be ok when u put it
back into drive
the cars manual says, leave in drive when positioned at lights but if its going to
be an extended period like 5mins on a dodgey set of lights then its fine
I always roll up to lights in neutral... but the way i see it...
Neutral gear = no engine braking = more use of brakes = more petrol.
But for some reason i still neutral up to lights lol...if i was driving manual i wouldn't recommend the clutch in at the lights though.
that aside...
It was a new week... and my fuel consumption got better.. this week i got 34/320km (hard to belief did exactly 320km right up too the petrol station agn).
But last week.. i redlined about 20 times ... dunno why my fuel consumption went down haha....my optimal 14.7:! air to fuel ratio must be in higher rev's for my car ( should get it tuned)

I roll to a stop in neutral all the time. It's a habit - some may say a bad habit - but I've survived so far. My reckoning is, if I'm not in gear using engine braking then I use less petrol. It takes me less than a second to pop it into gear and release the clutch if I spot an emergency situation.

I recently drove 2200km from QLD to VIC (mainly highway driving at 110ish) and i got an average of 7.5L/100km in my 1990 CB Accord (automatic). I average about 10 litres per 100km around the suburbs.

I filled up last nite... got 10.8L/100km.. city driving-.-
Yes I know...I thought it was pretty amazing myself but it was definately correct as I kept all the fuel receipts

NOT for me... some reason.. my fuel consumption went down the drain after i did a 2" catback....which was the start of the colder day's...
