No.Removing material will weaken it.
Just use a big bench vice.It's only alloy so it's soft.
But make sure you put something flat and long against the top side so you only compress the lower part like my pic.

Not likely.If you wanted you could slightly warm it up with an oxy torch but probably not needed.
Any muffler shop or workshop could do it.

hey mate remove the part i have circled. All this does is keep the revs up between gear changes. There is not much difference without it. I did this to my da9 when i had it. If you need any more help just pm me

i thought that recognised when air was flowing through the CAI?
so if i take it off...wen i accelerate and take my foot off the accelerator it wont rev down as slow as normal if u no wat i mean....like the revs will go down straight away?
no you wont even tell the difference. Trust me i have done this before. Also a good weight reduction lol

so i bashed the **** outta the bottom of the strut yesterday and squished it up a lil (as it was hollow on the in side) and took the washers off and it doesnt touch the engine anymore :) although now the top side has a few dents and scratches etc:(, but the noise keeps persisting!
