i would also like to know he outcome to this i read that real spoons with spoon calipers dont fit at 35 offset but 15s in rota slips fit as they can in a 38 offset?
so much crap talk out there... someone want to try fit some slips with willwood superlites (new kit with dust seals) and or spoon caliper kits?
i know team dynamic wheels fit for sure in 15s depends on spoke design
Its not just about offset and rim size that determines whether a spoon caliper is gonna fit or not.
Its also about the length of ur studs, spacers (if applicable) and more importantly, the design of the actual wheel itself.
i reckon just go a wilwood/fastbrakes 11" 4 pot kit, will fit under 15" 40 offset rotas i believe... i mite go the 12.2" willwood kit and squeezt some 16" slips 40 offset with 215 or 225 50 or 45 x 16 tyres hopefully will squeeze under the eg, check out honda-tech heaps of info on brakes...
I race the car,, so i am not familar with being able to get quality race pads to suit the willwood caliper,, at the moment i use yellow stuff which i am liking ,,, if i could get those pads or endless,, i would look at the willwoodsQuote:

geez search more there are heaps of wheels that fit, spoons are overrated and there are quite a few pads that will fit the wilwoods, i believe they are similar size to stock dcr2 pads... there are pads out there that fit no problems, pm one of the pov guys, one of them is rocking wilwoods... other option is baer but there slighly larger rotors...
if its for a track car youd be better off with 16" wheels then 15s cos of the higher walls of tyres means more flex, drag guys mainly use 15's, look at what the spor car motion guys in the states run, hardly 15's.. 16 to 17" rims
avoid spoon calipers if you can...they are not that good compare to OEM DC5R brembo.

i agree dc5r brembo are good, but look at the size of it.. fitment wouldnt be easy tho.. so there isnt much comparity
On the other hand, Spoon is a slight upgrade from the dc2r calipers... i only found a slight improvement on braking, but not enoguh to justfiy the price. Maybe its jsut the wank factor
^exactly, for bang for buck brake kit look at fastbrakes.com... plenty there, from stock itr setups to big brake kits, hell one of the guys had fit 11" rotors with 6pot wilwoods in 15 in rims (team dynamics tho)... but personally id do for some larger rotors and 4 pots and 16"min rims, you want to keep the rotor temp down so the bigger sometimes the better. Dont just look at what calipers are good, there are race teams running 4 pots on 13" rotors like the bayer kits but u'll need 17" rims. Like i said before, if your tracking (circuit) your car then bigger wheels will help cornering and you can fit bigger brakes, 15" rims are more for the drag lot as they can run higher side walls that flex for launching grip.... for 15" rims that have populated our market, type r brakes are basically the max you can fit, to fit 4 pots youll need a special offsets and spoke designs and you will be limited to a 11 in type r rotor at max. Ideal would be 12.2" to 13" max with some decent 4 pots... Just dont get carried away with the blue spoons.. more or less wank factor, there are exually as good for cheaper and from quality manufacturers that specialize in brakes.
I am loking at getting new wheels,,,the brakes will decide the wheel but no bigger than 16 cant afford the price of semi slicks for 17 ,,so expensive ..because i go through a lot of pads and rotors i need something i can get a top quality race pad easily ..the problem is i need to buy the wheels first cause if i get the brakes first car cant go any where cause wheels wont fit. i am thinking of these http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=155 wheel design looks like it will take big brakes,,Quote:
