Read ghostriders comments, he did tests on the fuels...
Eh? Synergy is only 87RON? typo?
Someone explain this.
BP ultimate + All changes under 4K NO VTEC, tried to get max mileage, and i get 450km.
Normal Crap Unleaded + Mass VTEC and Racing Around, and i got 480kms
PLEASE EXPLAIN!
i agree with MCchook...they r both the same...i bet its all psychological...if one were to swap the brands around but use same fuels, i think it would be interesting :oQuote:

I've heard that Optimax and Ultimate are the same a few times now, but they honestly feel different, Unless its got more to do with the locations at which I buy them, ultimate having been used by BP for a shorter time, therefor cleaner tanks maybe?
I've always been a user of BP Ultimate, but a week ago, I was dangerously low on fuel so I had to pull into the nearest petrol station and it happened to be Shell.
Anyway, I topped up the car with Optimax and I've got more km's from this tank of fuel than using Ultimate.
What surprised me the most is that during the past week, I've been gunning the car more than usual yet still used less petrol!
To rule out this being a freak result, I've topped up again with Optimax this week and will be driving normally to compare the results once again.
i was in the exact situation this week , ( BP user going to optimax as last resource ) and its hard to beleive that there is no difference between the two.Quote:

However, optimax does feel a lot more sluggish than ultimate as Ronin said before.
could be a matter of the type of car u have and how well it responds to different fuels.

its only sluggish when you fill in regular unleaded! =P
Optimax gets more mileage than Ultimate, at least 50km on a full tank
adds up in a year!
