seen the new design blades on the current civics? Looks stiffer
It could be that the glue has come off the glass & the clips holding them. or it might need a bit of a lube. If u are going to lube it use graphite powder, its dry and won't leave sticky residue (u can pick it up at a auto store for about $10)
it's a common issue with the FD civics. you can either lube it yourself or take it to a dealer and they will clean and lube the run channel for you, it will take 5-10mins MAX
the reason it's not closing is because of the increased resistance when closing the anti entrapment feature of the window thinks something is blocking the window so it opens up again.
it's also a good preventative measure for FD owners to request their dealer to clean and lube the front run channels when their car is in for service. that way you wont get stuck anywhere trying to close your window
yeah actually a few times, i pressd my window button to roll up automaticly and it went up and then it just came down by itself! this happend like 3 times...then it just went back to normal :)
lol this happened to me once, i was even goin to post about it. my front pasanger window would go up, checked everything, even the fuse box and was about to pull the inside door apart too, then i noticed i accidently put the window on child lock >_<"
make sure you check this before pulling things apart.
Best lube to use one the window channel is Vaseline, you don't need much and don't put so much on your finger to get big blobs in the channel, otherwise you will get greasy crap all over the edge of the window. This type of white petroleum jelly lasts the longest on the seal and keeps it moist and running smoothly even after it rains.
ive had to fix sooo many of those civic windows jamming most of the time itz just an alignment issue pull off the door trim loosen the bolts line it up with the top of the door frame re-tighen and lubricate easy as pie:)
hope that helps
yeah what sinful said is true. very common problem.
the wipers are a common issue to. it is a flaw with the new wiper design which wears them out very quickly
ok guys...i took it into honda a few days ago and they said that one of the clips broke so i had to replace the whole window...but they did that under warranty which was good...the only thing is i have to retint my window again...oh well...
can they not use the same window again??
no idea...i think the glass is held together inside with a clip and i think the clip broke the glass or something...im not really sure to be honest...sorry about that..haha
