^^ That's a noticable difference of 8%, assuming you drove both attempts in the same manner. But damn... is 10L+/100kms normal for the 8th gen Civic? My mum's Astra (ewww) does around 7-8L/100kms on normal 91 octane (its an auto too). I'm planning on getting either an FD1 Civic or a Mazda 3 around January.
afaik, someone posted that 98 is just wasted on the r18.
i just go bp 95 or caltex 95
shells in perth are dodgy lol
So what fuel station do you guys recommend is best?
i.e. BP, Mobil, Caltex etc.
just wanting to know cuz im due for my next fill up. i mean.. obviously stay away from 7-11.. but like I heard stuff about shell having "dirty" fuel.. i never thought so much into fuel until now.
hahaha. be grateful you have the option to choose between 91/95 and 98!
some people HAVE to get premium which means when its expensive=broke.
but when I had the civic, 91 does it fine. 95 if you wanna spoil it a little. 98 is totally pointless unless you have money to burn or your doing some serious stuff with your car...like racing it on track or something.
10+L/100km is not normal. a bit on the high side.
maybe its not the petrol. the way you drive can play large role too...
btw i like caltex..coz i get those dockets. lol 4c off ftw!
shell v-power racing.. there is a shell that provides that fuel around here.. but its not at all shell stations.. but i heard they are planning to take that fuel out? (100 octane).. it says 100 octane on the board.. but its more than 100 on brochure if i remember right.. how is that possible? what can be more than 100%.. =S
Guys I've always seen people said a tank can serve them 400Km+, how come my fuel light always comes on at around 380km? As far as I know I seldom go over 3,500rpm...

if u meant additional $4-5 per fuel tank refill (40-50litres) = expensive that's irrelevant imo
say that's per two weeks... so $8-10 per month
per year? $96-120...
i donate to charity more than that!!
go for Caltex or Shell for 91/95RON. for some reason my civic loves Caltex more than Shell. it gets more milage out of it.
I've been putting V-power for the 1st 1xxxxkm,each tank gave me 5xxkm, tried 2 tanks of BP Ultimate and it burns quicker significantly, then, thought might try Mobil 91, but the mileage drop a bit when compared with V-power, currently trying Mobil 8000, and awaiting results to tell it's significant or not~
Yeh I heard Caltex is the best for mileage.. it beat all the other brands. But is it clean and beneficial for the engine?
Btw thanks for all the replies
