EK9 headlights are on the list. Just give me some time boys. Unfortunately I don't get paid as well as I should be! :D
thats when you gotta get the bargain mindset on, hussle up international waters :)
usually can get the ek9 lights for around 400usdm
umm na mate i got a cxi in green. I havent spent much on it cause im hoping for a dc2r but so hard to find a decent one man. Im even thinking now should i just keep my cxi and do it up and then get a good engine when im off p's. Its immaculate and i know i will have difficulty finding a dc2r in the mint condition that my civic is.
If you're willing to pay, there'll always be a mint condition DC2R :)
hey mate, do you have any pics of the rear lip installation? am i suppose to drill in holes?
Raztaz is spot on there. Only drill your Lips though as you can easily screw into the bumper.
Just make sure there's someone who can help you out with aligning the lip onto the bumper and mark the spots where you need to drill.
I've just successfully remove my rear wiper and installed the plug to cover the hole and am in the process of doing the door trim.
More to come later this arvo hopefully.
Okay it was such a tiring day yesterday.
First with the rear wiper:
2 clips on the latch.

After endless sawing and pulling and ripping out came the arm rest/handle.

More pics tomorrow.. Maybe!
wow the red looks HAWT!
Hey man looking at ur plans etc, u might wanna get a front swaybar as well once u get the rear ctr otherwise u will be understeering hard. Also i might be selling my koni yellows if my mate doesnt end up wanting them
hey mate, nice car.
regarding your wiper plug and hardware kit.
did you have to buy them both seperately?
im looking at getting it for my eg.
yeh ive been looking at it on ebay and wasnt sure if it was one or the other or both were needed. did u get yours on ebay too? from the US?
Hi mate, good work with the conversion! - Liking the door trims with red, always makes a different atmosphere.
With the rear bumper, if it's OEM Honda, it has marks on the inside of the bumper made by the factory moulder as to where to drill for the CTR rear lip.
Its a very small bump on the (usually) dirty surface on the inside of the rear bar - at the exact centre of where to drill, and its surrounded but a roughened circle area.
I got to putting my CTR lip on, and was wondering how to get it lined up exactly - then put it under my big spot lamp to discover these marked-areas!
Cheers, Dan.
its not oem.. its rep you can tell from the pics
Bumpers are OEM.
Lips are reps. The rep lips doesn't come with any markings or whatsoever. The OEM bumpers do. However good luck with trying to align the lips on the bumper as tight as you could.
Yes it's from US. I believe you can easily get a rubber seal and screws for the plug if you want to as paying over $70 for the plug and kit is CRAZY! Though I did it and end up spending hours justifying it to the missus. And yes it's from eBay US.
lol good point man.
Oem > reps
Got my Osram Nightbreakers about 2 days ago. Managed to pop them in for a test last night.
On the left you have the Philips BlueVision and on the right is the Osram Nightbreaker:
http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...r270509-01.jpg
It's definitely brighter than the BlueVision albeit the yellow-ish tint that I didn't like.
Here's a mid-range shot:
http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...r270509-05.jpg
Also, I reckon the Philips Xtreme Power is better than this Nightbreaker.
I'm really considering going HID now. I've adjusted the BlueVision to a perfect height now that gives me the best distance/range but it is still not as bright as I would like it to be, though I wouldn't part with the whiteness of it.
Anyone with any experiences of getting defected for HIDs? I'm just thinking 6000k like what Liquidsound is selling.
Hey man, u dont have to worry about getting defected from having hids in canberra. They wont open ur beonet so they wont know what u got. If u dont get a ridiculous colour ie above 8000k then it should be fine. I used to have HI/LOs but the ballast died so just chucked in another ebay kit. Go hi/lo just to be safe but wont matter in act
yea the kits on most are rubbish, might be lucky to get 3 months of use out of them before a ballast dies and u go back to ur old globes
I only spent a lil, was nice for the hills, had disadvantages tho, such as having to aim the lights down to be less offensive to other motorists
the kits are easy to diy, the odds of a defect are slim unless they open you bonnet and find the boxes (just hide them) and the hi/lo poping of the blubs is a dead give away (as they are loud on the h4 hi/lo kits, lol) dont go above 6k, 8k is blue enough to be noticed
I enjoyed them, and if the ballast didnt die in the ass I wouldve still ran em
Thanks for the suggestions peeps.
Unfortunately I might have to stall all planned mods on my car now because of the bad news I got from my landlord yesterday. Will have to shift my focus onto the housing sector now and if I'm lucky, maybe some spare change will get me a part or two down the line.
Hopefully the DIY mods will go on as I would still love to continue on the build.
:(
yea had that happen to us yrs ago and forced us into a new place, was for the best :)
hmm like it mate. im after an arm rest atm.
looking good so far man, never see u around canberra tho? lol
where did you get the red material is it suede? i need to do the same to my interior!
how much if you dont mind for the material
New part picked up from JDMYard earlier this week..

Just got this fitted few hours ago with a mate's help. Product quality is awesome and there was a very noticeable power gain and the sound was deep and nice. Definitely recommended if you want to pay the price :p
http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v.../icebox-01.jpg
Hopefully I'll save enough for headers and exhaust in the coming weeks..
why dont you save your money... and do a swap instead of hears and exhaust.. unless you are not going to do a swap
Hey man where does that draw the cold air from?
Cause I don't plan to have a swap unless the absolute deal comes to light. I don't mind doing the basic mods now as I can easily part out on them.
This would also set me up for a cost efficient turbo mod should I choose to in the future. :)
Chris if you look at the lower part of the box (circled) there's a piping that goes behind the front bumper and you attached the air horn that sits at the same level as the bottom fender.
http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/v...030553-1-1.jpg
You'll have to remove the entire stock intake and the resonator box to fit this though.
Any gains man>?
What was the cost?
Revs on the lower-end is much more smoother and evident with some noticeable gains through the range.
It also gives a nice deep sound when you go medium-hard on the accelerator. It's definitely taking more air in and all I need is to pass them out efficiently with some new headers and exhaust!
Cost is exxy! Got it for around $640 pick-up price from JDM Yard during the June special.
I've definitely paid a premium for the stock look and to be RTA compliant while having cold air feeding into the engine.
Wow man. Exxy.
But atleast u can use it if u ever swap engines :D
Yeh man just gotta get a bigger throttle body connector if I do a swap. :)
Heys neo phase what is the intake called? Looks good might get one for myself aswell :D Oh and where did u get your OEM EK9 taillights from?
Thanks
noobie 90
Do u have a link to it on the forum? Cant seem to find it..
Here it is mate.
very nice intake :)
Thanks heaps

Needs sunlight for some better pic to do it justice. :)
new rims look mint
now to get the gaurds on the rubber!
Haha yeah mate that's next on the list.
Am weighing options of coilovers vs. spring + shock combo.
comes down to cost and wat u wanna do with it
u can get adjutable coils which are raletivly soft, if u just wanna hav ur height movement, or go a 'track' set up and loose most of ur dailyness.
or a set spring shock combo for less coin.
omg new rims are hot! how much did htey set you back?
Whats the specs of the wheels?
Raztaz: Got them at a real good value from a 'fellow' OH member. :) Was lucky enough to snap it up quick.
Gio: It's 16x7" +42 offset 4x100 with 205/45/16 RE001
hey mate im curious where you got the arm rest from im interested in one.
do you have a link to one?
hey buddy, your car looks heaps nice.
you should come join our cruises every once and while in canberra :)
Here are some better photos... Took my car to the washers yesterday and did a quick polish. It better not rain in Canberra (at least for a few days)!

Thoughts?
looks nice man needs to be dumped not to much jsut enough but when u do that lip is going to be a busted lip lol, similar to my car. car has a very straight body no dints or straches nice
Nice man, coming along nicely. I got a set of used kmacs u can have for 100 bucks if u want. 2.5-3" drop i think. Also might sell my konin yellows if my mate doesnt want them
Nice rims bro. big ups
lookin' good dude. What are your plans for suspension?
Hey mate just use epoxy to re-attached the arm rest. You'll need to apply some pressure from the other side of the arm rest to make it stay. epoxy is good as it's construction grade. It is however quite a permanent solution so it would be quite difficult to remove later on.
Well I'm currently looking at Koni Shocks + King Springs combo. Depending on my budget in the next few weeks I might consider coilovers. I'm not too keen on coilovers however due to the fact that I won't be tracking the car and therefore wouldn't require as much adjustments.
nice CTR doors :)
been to see the logic coilovers at shift, good bit of kit and made here
price ryan?
1700 :)
Thanks bro.
