kool man... got a pic of it by anychance? i just wana make sure i get one thats in very good condition lol cause the one i have now is...
Just sent a PM
Ill get a pick for you tonight
thanks heaps dude :D
ek4 is obd2,no use to you.
back to the drawing board :P
oh snap! lolll fcuk
i think i have obd2 with the obd1 converter harness cos i had to get that from adrian if i can remember about 2-3 years back to get my Power FC to work. My Engine was originally from an 2000 JDM Sir ek b16a2.
well a little update, Adrian looked at my ECU and informed me that all he has to do is simply put an S100 hondata chip into my ECU and he can tune it... so i dont need a new ecu after all... just gotta get a boost controller LOL so now, which one to get? anyone tried the gizzmo?
anyone heard of Eboost street?
New actuator? igot a 7.2psi srping y0
I bought the Gizzmo Boost Controller this morning $310 Delivered. :) hopefully i get it and then i gotta install it before next Tuesday.
will do
i want the eboost2 haha sooo many good features! just so expensive :(
how much did u pay for yours Luke:?
Came in today....

Pretty cool it comes with this remote trigger that you can attach to your steering wheel or where ever. So instead of having to reach down and press the controller you can have it somewhere more accessible.
Getting a new one for mums car ha ha..... ;)
I've installed the thing. Was soo easy and took less than 1 hour to have the car running with it. Only thing is now is im finding it hard to set the Boost settings. In the manual it has no where that explains how to change the boost settings.
Says a whole bunch of crap on duty cycle and boost scramble but no simple boost adjustment. Its probably easy i just need to get my head around it.
duty cycle is just directly related to how much the solenoid is open/closed
scramble is just jumping to a different boost setting.
multi scramble is just toggling with the switch between 2 or more boost settings.
theres prob a time base associated with each scramble setting.
what are u aiming for?
the amount of power, on what PSI?
how much did your build cost? pm me if its a secret... i just want to know how much il be looking at if i ever rebuild mine
LOL no... id like to see its done properly :p
well how much for parts then? and ill say add another 2k on top of that for labour?
external gate ftw
yeah the dam duty cycle instructions .... ha ha i have to re do mine agian on the AEM boost guage lol but i might just leave the spring in the gate controlling it for the moment till i get some rods :(
Nah no secret dude...heres my rebuild thread:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111167
JE Rings from US and ACL bearings from AUS: $180 wholesale.
Mfactory LSD from e240 off her: $500
Race/rally spec Exedy clutch: $567 of Yonas from JDM Yard
new gt2871r with 56 trim from Mercury Motorsport: $950
New oils, sparks, filters etc: $140
Hone rebuild etc: Free Myself
Fixing odds and broken small things i found: $150ish
Painted parts: Free Myself
Gizzmo Boost controller: $299
RC 660 injectors: $450 purchased from someone on here about 9 months ago
Walbro 500hp fuel pump: $300 Wholesale about 9 months ago
Heavy duty AEM Fuel pressure reg: $200
Machined flywheel: Free Myself
Tune tomorrow: $700
MPR Rear LCA's: $199
Xtra heavy duty whiteline rear 28mm sway: $299
Dunno what it came to but roughly 4.5g for:
Turbo upgrade
LSD
Clutch Upgrade
rebuild
Boost Controller Upgrade
Injector Upgrade
Fuel pump Upgrade
Service
Fuel pressure reg upgrade
Machined Flywheel
Small Fixes
Rear Suspension and sway bar upgrade
Full Tune.
After i sell old Pressure reg, fuel pump, injectors, boost controller, Stock diff, gt28r Turbo.
Rebuild will come to around 3.5g roughly
Gone from 7psi with 240hp atw's like 1 year ago to the above upgrades with 20-24psi max hoping to get anything over 320hp atw's but will drive daily at about 10-12 psi and have the boost controlled option to run upto 20 or 24psi for quater mile times etc.
I want Durabilty and street-ability and have the option for drags.
I spent over 30 hours of work so labour would have cost a crap load. Mechanics would have been a bit quicker than myself but still they would have spent over 20 hours which is still a massive ammount. At least 2-3g in labour costs saved.
quoted from my build thread to share the boost controller install.Quote:
Also heres my new Boost controller install:

Mind the nub red and black interior colour. Havent changed it since my bling younger days. Gonna get changed soon tho..so over it.
Thats nice and small!
I hope i can use this one, will find out this weekend!
Im surprised you havent been caught for that radar detector lol
nar WA is all sweet for them..... i think anyway??? .... PS send me one ha ha
nah WA is legal for radar detectors... WA = Win
How did you go with setting up the boost controller FastFwd?..It's alittle difficult for the first times huh?..setting all the boost percentages and always monitoring your boost guage to see if boost spikes?!...took me awhile, though I'm running a Greddy Profec B Spec 2.
Great feature that scramble boost. It's like 'free' nos =p
Install was 10 out 10...so easy
Boost setup 5 out 10, was very confusing at the start and the manual is a bunch of rubbish. doesnt tell you anything but once you work your head around it. Works great. Holds boost well, i like it so far
Altho i would have gone with the new Eboost Street if i had of known about it. Its a Turbosmart version of the gizzmo...Very similar but turbosmart and only $80 more. i would have gone with that option if i had of known earlier.
E boost street?? hmm havnt heard of it i'll have to have a look at that
Yer i was kinda annoyed when i found out cos i would have gone with that option...apparently very similar to eboost 2 accept its compact and small like the gizzmo.
yeahh that may be the one i get if i cant afford the Eboost2...
does anyone know the main differences in the Turbosmart street and Eboost2 controllers to make the eboost like 500bux more? is it worth it?
lol u know wat i mean
hahha im just being a prick dont worry.
lol i know :p
So anyones thoughts on the 2? i mean i will probably just hold off on the tune so i canget the Eboost2 but if its not worth the extra money, im set to roll now :D
I have fitted and tuned many boost controller for myself and friends. I have to say, the Eboost was the most complicated! and the GIZZMO is in the top three of easiest and fool proof to fit and use.
For the day to day user and occasional track/strip, you cant go past the GIZZMO. I had one myself a while ago when they first come out!
EBoost is simply too difficult to set and has too many features for anyone to use or likely yo use.
Any of the Jap branded dual solenoide will work very well too and still cheaper than Eboost. I not dissing Eboost, but its too difficult to setup for the average joe :(
thanks for that dude!
im not really worried about setting it up as the mechanic will do that when it goes in for the re tune...
the tuner (adrian @ TODA) actually said the Eboost2 was the best EBC hes dealt with thats why im leaning toward that...
Im after an EBC that will be reliable, that i can have 2 or 3 boost settings and will run my motor the best :D
True as George states e-boost 2 quite complicated IMO
I've started to read the manual and I'm not a stupid guy by any means but dam its sure confusing
But if Adrian's config it who give'a Fuk lol
Its the best and can fix any boost problems
EB2 is very easy to use. The features on the EB2 is more than enough and can do everything you want in a controller. Read the manual. It should be a light read ( i know cause i help write it & test all its functions).
how u sposed to understand it luke,if u only just started reading it?lol
the only thing hard about the eboost is trying to remember what all the little 3 letter abbreviations are for.
be good if it had a pc connection & u could go thru & set it up on the pc.
my bro-in-law asked me to help him setup his & its not too bad when u have a manual on paper when setting up,but then he went & lost the friken manual 6 months later & jeez it gives u the shits tryin to scroll back & forward on a pdf manual tryin to remember all the abbreviations,
they should have em all listed on one page that u can tear out & have next to the page your reading or somethin
opinions? lol eboost2 worth the extra cash> :p
Guys ive never installed the eboost so i cant compare but i think any boost controller with the 3 digit 8 crystal LCD display is just a b1tch. The gizzmo is very similar.
Gizzmo was soo bloody easy to install. Took me less than 30 mins to have it mounted and online.
But major downfall is the Manual. I more usefull to wipe my ass with. It doesnt have real info on it, theres just these stupid flow diagrams to work yourself around the menu's with the 3 digit display.
All in all im fairly happy with the gizzmo but for the extra 50-100 i would have paid for the eboost street forsure. As its similar to the gizzmo but a known brand.
