get a PLM instead and just cut into the stock catback lol
toda is worth the wait bro :)
I guess, pm me if you want header fitted too Vinno
simon i got it fitted, all good now
any dramas? hows it feel?
feels good, obviously with S/S header u get the hissing sound when u accelerating.
what's a s/s header?
S t a i n l e s s s t e e l f f s
its actually pretty loud when WOT with weaponR n test pipe.
Cold start idle is pretty loud as well - bear in mind i have my 2nd resonator on my catback deleted.
lol I can't really tell the difference apart from the hissing but I'm still using stock exhaust
hey guys, just stumbled across a set of xforce ss headers for the cl9. they look very similar to the weapon r, anybody know the difference?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xforce-SS...item336d598515
They are not similar to weapon-r at all. What you are looking at are DC sports header copy.
Xforce = OBX which are similar to the Top Speed headers which are just the stainless steel versions of DC sports headers.
Also lol@$599 price tag.... You can get a comptech header from JDM yard for $50 more, which is a much better made header
Hey guys looking into getting the weapon-r headers myself... just not too sure on cat was looking into this... would it be suitable and a straight forward cut/weld/install job?
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/fastline-...-2.4l-cl9.html
LOL falseadvertising fredoops :P gotta love u man Haha Removed that from sale ages ages ago :p
Couldn't be bothered modifying my subframe for the J's Racing Header so stuck with the Weapon R... the last piece of USDM equipment on my car :D
well whats a reasonably good hi flow cat but not too expensive that goes well with the weapon r header?
Hey Thor what they have on heeltoeauto would be good enough :) What mods do you currently have? Sorry just replying here instead of PM so more people can have access to this information :P
just the skunk 2 and some wheels! looking into an injen cai soon (might take it off your hands...)
so even the cheaper options with the cats http://www.heeltoeauto.com/fastline-...-2.4l-cl9.html
might even get a custom one made up...
hey guys i just read through the thread and im looking at getting a set of these weapon r headers as they sound like they are what im after. so from what i gather, i can install the headers and cat and still use stock cat back part of the exhaust system?
also, with the sound difference, under normal driving conditions, its still reasonably quiet untill you give it some? thanks
no sound difference buddy :) !
Yes you can use stock cat... but you'd be missing out on a lot of power.
If you have the pre-facelift euro, then it's got a 900 cell cat converter, it's a major power sump.
As to noise, my car actually was quieter with the Intake and Header/250 cel cat.... probably due to the lower restrictions.
oh yea id deffinatly be changing the cat. sounds good. thanks guys. cant wait to order it and get it installed now
boo to copies and clones!
ADOPTED :p not copies or clones hehehehee
has anyone here used Xforce headers on their cl9 as they are localy sold? if you have what are your thoughts. just pm me so i dont hijack this weapon r thread.
thanks
PLM vs Weapon R. Pros and Cons? The face Lifted CL9 run 500 cell cats don't they?
PLM review against someone who had Weapon R
http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-ge...er-review.html
Problem with PLM is that to fit a cat with PLM you'll need to have the stock cat-back cut back 30cm or something.
So I think Weapon R is still the way to go :p and no the stock cat has like 900 cells I believe
Pre facelift: 900 cell
Post facelift: 400 cell
Xforce header is identical to the cheap OBX headers seen on eBay.. Hell they even use the same marketing photos, I'm pretty sure they are both made by the same contract manufacturer in China.
They are both DC-Sport (an AEM company) ripoffs. So unless you can get them cheap (as in similar to OBX prices..) don't bother
An OBX CL9 header is $199+shipping
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...-order-Special
^^^they sell PLM race headers for $500
but you'll need to get a CAT and cut back a bit of the stock catback to fit.
Still that'll make more HP than the Xforce... a lot more.
Also, dont be afraid to shop online.
So wait, Toda, WPR and PLM will all require either work to the subframe or a cut/new CAT?
dont think you need to do anything to the subframe but you will need to get a new cat because toda and wpr come with a test pipe
but not sure about plm what you can do take ur test pipe to an exhaust shop they can cut it in half and weld on a cat for you
to fit
Gah, means more in Labour cost I guess. Thanks for the info guys.
Damn, the Toda looks expensive. For head and Cat. How noisy are they though? I don't want something noisy at idle or low down. I do want improved low down power though, the K24 is really lacking.
Hey Fred I need ur opinion on feels header..does it require work like wpn r?? Weld on to a test pipe or...
Feels header is like MaxiamWorks header.
BLOOOODDYYYY AWSOME.
BLOOOODDYYYY Expansive
Hi guys,
I have a facelift CL9 ,2007 and I'm interested in changing the headers as well.
I can go cat-less I don't mind, but I'm looking for a quite setup, I'll have the Hondata ECU reflash, Comptech Icebox intake and stock catback.
I'm just looking for some good headers not so expensive like Toda are, but to be quiet.
For what I could read here the PLM and WR are both cat-less which is fine, I just want to know which will be ok for what I want .
Our should I look for something else ?
what is the diameter of the test pipe on the weapon r.. ? just adding up the cost of the potential install.. Magnaflow flow cat 170 + weapon r header 600 + welding $200.. its a grand..
