Just goes t' show, if you don't shop around, you're gonna get screwed. Talk about jackin' up the price.
I'm glad to see this thread is still alive :)
I've had my arcan jack for close to two years, doesn't get much use but I can't complain as it's still going strong - definitely worth the $$$.
anyone seen them in melb Costco lately?
I got mine, love it :)
Don't think our Costco up here has opened yet, better plan on joining up and sitting outside the door on opening day. If it has opened already, I've probably missed out.
No good i went today to the one in Ringwood
might not be any by the time you get there, thats the problem... i hear those things go like hotcakes.
If the 'new' release is expected to be 1.8T, what was the 'old' version rated at?
I've been to Docklands Costco a couple times over the last year or two and each time I've been they've had a whole stack of them there.
Mine's been playing up lately so I'll be looking at getting a new one soon.
Not holding pressure?
Maybe change the hydraulic fluid is needed?
Whats a good jack recommendation?
Sorry for off topic
Just FYI if you are a member of Costco you can replace your arcan jack for free every time something goes wrong with it for as long as you are a member. So if it fails don't buy another just take it back to the service desk with the membership card you used to pay for it. I took mine back simply because one of the two pistons wasn't working properly after a bit under a years time. They replaced it without asking questions lol.
Thanks for the tip Super. I'll keep that in mind
how many left did you see at crossroads? planning to head down there tomorrow
dafuk not holding pressure lol. good & expensive but doesnt hold pressure. nice
What if you return a faulty one and Costco has no new stock? I guess they'll just give you a refund? Still no stock at Ringwood for the past 1-2 mths.
My old Supercheap one does something similar, don't use it for a while and have to pump it up and push it down 2-3 times to get it to lift anything, then it's OK for a while.
The other lesson here is don't buy one off a re-seller, how are you gonn'a get it exchanged or refunded
For you guys with bad pistons, do you use the jack to hold the weight of the car for more than a minute etc., i.e. for the duration of the task, be it 5 minutes or 1 hr etc.
I'm wondering if the piston dies because it is carrying the weight for a prolonged period rather than just jacking it up and then resting it on jack-stands as soon as ppossible, thus alleviating the stress from the hydraulic jack for greater longevity.
* Still waiting for Costco to restock these jacks!
My first one went bad after a good year - lots of holding weight for time - but it's always advised to get off the jack as quickly as possible. And once in a while back off the jack , pump a few times to get air and sediment out and past the seals - and firmly tighten then jack again
Had my pro-lift
Hold up my engine (one mount was removed) for 3 days
Though when you're lifting your car and hear a massive crack and the jack wont go up - its a worrying sign lol
jus gonna shine in here... ive had my jack for over 1.5 yrs now... its been good, no signs of failure or wear, ive used it to hold up my dads hilux heaps of times, considering the 4x4 weights over 2 tonnes so its a sure sign the jack is very well built... Yes its recommended 1.5 tonnes, but proof they are a tough jack
I'm close to breaking down (tired of waiting for Costco to re-stock) and buy the Bahco Aluminium 2T Jack.... at 2x the price of the Arcan jack... :(
well we jack from the center diff, so its gonna b heavy either way LOL, ive heard of guys jacking the rear end with a trailer attached an its still fine hahaha, not sure how well the seals on the jack goes....
BTW does anyone know if we can service these jacks locally? im wanting to get it serviced end of yr for longevity i guess
Had mine for almost a year then it got stolen lol, but didnt have any issues with it while i had it.
It was stolen from a person I had lent it to.
Let's go get it back.

There must be quite a lot of warranty / swap over / refund jobs at Costco over this jack? How many of you actually had to bring back to Costco? Did you get it swapped over or get a refund?
I ended up getting this first as a stop gap solution while waiting a bit longer for the Arcan jack. Anyone else got something similar and what do you think of them?
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Vehicle-P...=electric+jack
You already have one scissor jack from factory, why would you need another?
It is not recommended to use them in place of an actual jack
maybe fine for changing a spare tire
But that is it
And you can get the same outcome by using an electric drill with a modified bit on the end (MCM has done a thing on this)
But if you use the pinch wield to jack the car up with the scissor jack
Where you gonna place the jack stand? :S
For anyone who's desperate, there's one on eBay

lol @ listing... What do they go for these days? I got mine for 175 off ebay few years ago.
So are these Trolley Jacks any good then? People have mixed feelz about them?
Ringwood, VIC
$149
New red version. 1,800kg lift
Cap: 1,800kg
Minimum lift height: 101.6mm
Max lift height 470mm
Net weight: 26kg
Will take photos when I unpack tomorrow arvo maybe
happy to send some over to some WA brothers?
So it doesn't go as high or as low as the old ones?
NO TROLL THIS TIME. IN STOCK CROSS ROADS. $149. Just like Dougie mentioned.
Bought myself one. Swear quality feels alot better then SCA jacks. Still 5 pumps and it will raise to max.
Nice finish and feels solid. If your car can clear pack of winny blues 25 standing up. This jack will fit your stanced beast.
Also strong recommend to buy windscreen wipers, only 11 bucks for frame free good year ones. **Top buy**
Supply postcodes and I'll investigate shipping expenses.
6105 for me.
Apparently ringwood hasn't got stock anymore, can anyone confirm.
Crazy I was there like two days ago
Just bought two at crossroads.
I estimate 15ish left.
Dunno if they have more out back
I just bought one at Ringwood this afternoon, there was half a pallet left. Best to ring first if you want to go there to get one.
Note: This new style is 'steel/aluminium' and a bit different from the previous blue one.
This new one has a higher minium height and lower max height compared to the old one. However, it is rated at 1800kg compared to the old 1500kg.
Costo docklands have stock, bought one today. Probably 1 pallet left
Anyone know if any stock in Sydney??
I wouldn't bet on it. If so probs last few. I'd hurry down. Worth every penny. Every time i gota get underneath, I thank myself I bought one of these bad boys.
Last time I wen't to Aurburn, didn't see any. Last time I wen't to Glenfield, there was a handful left. Both vists were this month.
They even running out them wind screen wipers. I'd stock up.
Yeah get in before they jack up the prices
