always had a soft spot for 4th gen prayludes
inb4GeyludeLove
was it rusting underneath already or previous damage?
I'm keeping a close eye on whats going on. IMO I think the nude rocker cover would look great with a clear coat over it.
I'm liking the new look.
Getting there.

I got those washers for my rocker cover....
Wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, as I made the stupid mistake of thinking the whole packet was $12, not just the one washer...
My mistake.
Don't I feel stupid.

Still need to align the bonnet properly.
Hopefully my vinyl comes soon. :P
Cheers guys!
i just did an attempt at vinyl wrapping my car, as i noticed some bubbles i peeled it back to let them out and it ripped of alot of clear coat.
be weary dont press it down hard on installation wait until its sitting how u want then begin to force it down.
nah i threw it out, i might of taken a picture of it somewhere, decided to just do a paint job ahaha,
Thinking of PlastiDipping my wheels in either matte white or matte black...
Thoughts?
Think my post didn't go through and was lost..so ill try again
So yeah. Plastidip imo is awesome. Gets easier to peel the thicker it is. It'll take about 1 can to do 1 wheel, and LSPMotorsports here sells them for $25 a can. So you'd be looking at about $100 in total.

renzozjuken did his in blue looks good, but when u get close you can see its not quite normal
and it peels my itself near the edges
Just ordered my rocker cover gasket.
Comes with spark plug seals, washer seals, an o-ring (Not sure what for just yet), and the valve cover gasket.
Im thinking of spraying the cover a silver while I have it off.
Not that fake chrome stuff, more of a galvaniser sort of colour.
We'll see how I go.
Cheers!
Another quick update.
My carbon fibre vinyl arrived!
So keen to whack it on, but it wont be til later this week.
Pictures will be assured.
I think I know what you're referring to. It's this, but with a slight bit more shine, right?

I just need to find the right paint and prep materials.
Rocker cover gasket, spark plug seals and new washers are on.
While the cover was off, I sprayed it a silver.
Was like this:

Rocker cover on the car.
Real happy
looks good, doesnt a silver one cause more heat though?
because back in the day lots of enthusiasts were chroming everything under the hood and then run into the problem of overheating because so much heat was just being bounced around under the engine bay.
maybe just the rocker cover wont hurt.
Hey that turned out real nice!

Going to get my bonnet wrapped in the new year.
Cheers!
Just installed some 6" MB Quart NAN-116 2 way speakers in the rear of the Prelude. They've got a lot better response than the crap 5" Pioneer things I had in there before hand.
Next up will be some splits for the front.
Something like this, hopefully they aren't too large.

Cheers!
Measure the depth of the speaker hole thats already in there. There have been some cases that people have got speakers that are to deep and the window doesnt close and open properly
Painted my brake calipers today, the red that was on there starting to flake and peel, so I hit them with some Silver enamel.
http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...75587133_n.jpg
I didn't realise the gutter rash was so bad on the wheels...
Previous owner, I swear.
Thanks man.
1. Sanded back the caliper with 1200 grit paper, doesn't have to remove all the paint just enough to allow the paint to stick,
2. Cleaned up the caliper with wax n grease remover,
3. Prep the area with newspaper (discs, cv boots, struts, coils, stub axle etc)
4. Spray 2 or 3 light coats of high heat/engine enamel on each caliper, allowing 15 minutes between each coat
I didn't clear coat my calipers, but just repeat step 4 as many times as you like with the clear enamel.
Hope this helps!
Just bought these.

You've got quite a serious rash there! You're also making me want to silver up my calipers too..
Do like ur rocket cover russ.
Looking really good mate
Did you take off your calipers to paint?
or just did them while they were on?
Really want to do my rocker cover too now :P

Looking for some advice...
Im getting around to having my bonnet sprayed, just wanting to know what colour?
Seeing as though I've already wrapped the boot in the cf vinyl, Im wondering if I should get the bonnet done in matte black.
Or should I get it done in gloss black, as it doesn't mark quite as easily?
Dunno...
If you've got the opportunity to respray it, why not colour match it to the rest of the car? Unless you want that black bonnet look I mean. Personally I would colour match the car if I had the opportunity to get it properly resprayed.
I'm for colour matching too. In fact i'd probably get the boot sprayeed too

Just another photo of my 4th Gen.
You can't really tell, but I actually resprayed the side skirts in matte black. Photos just dont do it justice.
Cheers,
Russ.
Just bought a new rear muffler for the 'lude.

3" tips, with a 2.25" inlet. High flow design. Should be neat!
Just found a BB1 Lude with a DTM style muffler on it!

Did you smoke your taillights mate?
Changed the oil and filter in the Chonda today
I put some Nulon trade strength oil flush through it and whacked 5 litres Valvoline SynPower 15W-40 in. With that, I also added a litre of Lucas Oils oil stabiliser in it, so now it should (hopefully) not chew up as much oil as it did beforehand.
Wish me luck...
Cheers,
Russ.
I wish you lick
kind regards,
sean
Did you actually put 6L of fluid into your motor? lol
