2 months on! and finally I got some momentum going with the project for the past 2 weekends.
I score this RS-mach Hard top from Yahoo about a month ago. Completes with mounting kits etc.

TBH They are very hard to come by with the Multiple humps. I did pay for a fair price for it considering the conditions of the gel Coat etc. Nothing a lick of fresh paint cant do.
And these hard top price has gone up to the roof on Yahoo auction... I did not want to spent up to $3000 on a Mugen one...
Car worth less than 5k and a Roof that worth 3k? Must be joking....
Well! now as the engine taking to "final" mock up position
https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...6e&oe=55F514A1
https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...cd&oe=563239C1
Hanged with top engine craddle with a makeshift support so it would give a bit more working space underneath it.
we did more cheese cutting through the metals etc and finaly have some idea where it will be sitting and how it would clear the subframe etc.
with the engine supported from the top and now the nd engine is adjusted with gearbox jack into the position.
this allow us to bolt back all the subframes and arms to positions. (ignore the arm angle, coilovers are set on the lowest possible setting)
https://scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...fa&oe=55E69BCC
Sub frame have to be spaced out to clear the hump of the gear box (final drive) and we make shift a couple piece of woods, one on each side. (this would be made out from a correct steel thickness and laser cut on final product)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n...2bcd150ea826aa
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...b44db4ba2831ff
So close but not close enough. I still need to raise the suspension up by the end of the day to compensate the increase height of the subframe. also this would give me more clearance on the rear trailing arm and most importantly to give me more clearance for the SUMP!.
Now I'm going to back to the drawing board, and making task before the next step:
designing some Plates to be laser cut for this to have the Subframe to be Fixed in place and properly bolted
Suspension to raise / utilise stock shocks for time being
Arms to clear gearbox cast housing.
Re strengthening the Subframes (fully boxed, stiffen and welded)
Re strengthening the Chassis rail that has been modified to clear the engine (Tubed, gusseted, Thicken wall)
one all of that above is done,
We will start looking into the Engine mountings
Drive shafts (OH!! This is going to be nightmare...)
This has becoming real! glad I only have to do it once! LOL.
Bump any updates
Sending to drive shaft shop in 2 days. ;)
Final placement of engine is done.
Engine is supported by its own mount.
Once the drive shaft is good to go, pulling out the engine and start tiding up the engine bay.
Grind off welds, rubber coated the weld and paint...
Slow progress 😂

My SD card got corrupted a few weeks ago. Lost heaps of built photos =/

I Finally got my shipment of the parts from Japan.
it was bigger than i taught it would.
First of all, I went on a Friday after knock off early from work to the airport cargo area and found out the Ute that i borrowed from my mate, is not going to fit all of the items.
I ended up spending a good hour or so wondering arround the airport complex to get my AirWay bill cleared out form custom

This is a much as i could get.
it sits as far up as possible - and yet to retain the straight shaft as you can see on above image drive shaft have to be almost inline
sits as far back as possible for the drive shaft to sit yet again alsmot inline
after speaking to a few drive shaft shop, i found the right guy to manufacture it.
we shall see how we go on this current mounting position.
once the drive shaft is done, Engine is again coming out to get fully serviced
Belts, injectors cleaned, broken sensor replaced etc.
then finalized the weld and tidying it up.
seal the weld and spray of new paint on the bay.
at the moment its all just 50-50 on temporary and fully welded.
lots of tidy up to do so, I'll keep you guys updated how i go with the shaft.
After ALLL THAT!
then i will start the wiring and lastly, shifter linkage hahahah! i hvnt actualy look into this yet but, yes is still do able may be in reverse mode

You can buy a shifter cable and reversed linkage kit to suit a lotus it would work for you
Well, the car is still at the CV joint place.
Gave them a call last Monday, and they have not yet started on it.
Looks like its going to be a rather "Long" wait..
Getting out from the workshop for some fresh air..

I'll leave it here for now.. until I get an update from the cv guys.
Oh ! regarding that Cable system, yes I did look into a few system and I think, i have some idea of how to make it works.
I've looked into Z car swaps, Mini Rear mounted K swap, MR-S K swap and Lotus
we'll see...
Love the updates! Good on you mate. Keep it uppp!
a bit slow lately due to other stuff
so just a short up date this time, I got the CV joints made by Alan's CV Joints
Cut and sleved joints and heat treated.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...4c&oe=56F93A68
Almost impossible to make on one of them due the stubby short lenght, but we just got there..
They look pretty good, we shall see how they perform once its mounted.
one step closer
keen to see progress with the gb/linkages
awesome. can I have a drive in it?
I have been looking into this lately.
Namely a few kits that is available for Elise-s K swap kit
SunSpeed
EliseParts
Innovative
They are utilizing Stock Elise Shifter cables and adapt it to K series box
with Adjustable Ball joints
For example - Innovatives design
http://www.monkeywrenchracing.com/images/INM-50908.jpg
The Beat it self already have a Cable shifter (like the K) just in different stroke length,
This adjustable method can be utilized, something similar to this
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...7bebd5bebc68ee
Or I could even shortened the Stock beat cables and use the adjustable Link for fine tune it.
will look into this once the engine is back in with the shaft etc. Really keen to make it work! ;)
"Maybeeeeeee" if you got that NSX then yeah.. AHahaha...
Opportunity gone
"my dream is to have nsx by 30"
Connor dream now nightmare
Any updates on the Beast?
Well may be about a year pass since last update.
due some change in circumstances (Life) this has been put on the back burner while other things are going on. BUT Yes this Project is still going and finishing it is not clear in sight yet LOL!
I have finish mocking up the rear subframe to mounts the engine up and i have sent it to a fabies to make a new tubular frame. Which would be alot better than my hack / mock up frame.
Subframes now has been jigged up

https://scontent.fper4-1.fna.fbcdn.n...91&oe=59D73570
this should be done for test fitting in the next week or two.
I have the frames dropped last year November, and fabricators has taken his own sweet time to fab it up! although i did tell him no "rush".
The imported panels and body parts are now painted, just awaiting for the frames to be done so i could roll up the car and get the body re-painted.

Well, "THAT" circumstance that change resulted in selling the EG race car.
So i took the motor out from it and replace with my UKDM EP3 motor and sold the EG with that.
So the beat now will rock my race car engine and box.
JDM k20, 5.1, 1.5 spoon lsd, BC Cams, Skunk2 I/m,K-Pro, I/H/E blah blah blah

Front Brake upgrade - DC2R Calliper! Got to love Honda puzzle kit
https://scontent.fper4-1.fna.fbcdn.n...09&oe=59F39BBA
They bolt up nicely, I’m yet to buy 4 studs 280 mm disc to test this out properly, but it can be down the track as currently I’m still focusing to get the engine settled in.
Just an update for the subframe – It finally at the final stage! We are able to test fit to the car and my Fabricator has done a great job!

https://scontent.fper4-1.fna.fbcdn.n...75&oe=5A0D3FDA
Lot of clearances and ½ the weight of the original subframe. The subframe will still need a few more bracings and engine mounts to be placed in.
