has any found good 16'' crome mags for a gen1 my 2door need some bling
i got 16"s on my GEN2...was forced to get 16s as i was on a budget after buying the new car and my brother had a set of brand new tyres lying around. tried to get some bling but 1. it wouldn't really look right since 16 is so small....and 2. if u want bling no one makes anything less than 18....even 17 is pushing it nowadays :(
just out of curiosity how many kms do you guys get on a full tank (in gen 2 legends)
i get about 320km in my KA7, but i have seen about 450km if you baby it around. not they greatest car on fuel. but theres wors out there all so.
Dude, it will be pretty impossible to find anything remotely decent looking in a 16" rim. All I can say is go bigger. I fit 19" on my Gen1 coupe no problem at all. Be aware though that your turning circle will suck and the steering is a lot heavier. I dont mind it because I drive my Euro Luxury around every day (which by the way is also sitting on 19's and dumped 3.5") and my Legend is rarely driven, it sits in the garage under a car cover and is only driven like 1 a fortnight. You have to give up some comfort to look good.Quote:

Hey guy's,
I'm just thinking about buying a 94 Sedan. I have herd they are heavy on fuel but read here there not bad untill you start driving them hard, anyone got figures on fuel consuption.
Is there anything else I should know about them that goes wrong or should be considered before purchase, what $ may need to be spent. It's got 140KMs and yep its an Auto 3.2L.
Cheers for any info
Steve:thumbsup:
just make sure you get your harmonic balancer looked at, mine failed at about 240.000kms. the rubber ring that its mounted too came loose and sliped. i had it replaced with a type II balancer that is all metal so theres no rubber for it too come loose. other than that i cant think of any thing, ive had mine for 3years and its been a fantastic car.Quote:

got it back today actually and goes even harder than it did before, lost to a 300ZX TT that launched when i didn't and i was only a car length behind before he turned off... he must be thinking he's king d*ck now lol
anyways, back to the point.. expect to pay $70-$80 a weeks worth of driving (assuming fuel is around $1.40 p/L)
my car is also same as your's in engine capacity being a 3.2L auto
good luck buddy, just get a wet and dry compression test and a test drive to check and make sure everything is fine and a 100 point check...
hope that helped!
Andy

what mods do you have?. have you had it dynoed at all?.

what problems have you had with yours?.
Thanks for the info guy's it's all a help at this stage.
Still not sure if I want to sell my current run around car (non Honda), have a mate wanting to buy it and I would need to replace it with something nice.
I didn't think there would be to many problems with the Legend, afterall it is a Honda... Just a bit concerned about fuel consumtion compared to current car as I will be driving it daily.
I will let you know how I go.
Cheers
Steve

mods...
FULL custom Genie exhaust with extractors and all that bullsh*t...
FULL custom BOSE home theatre throughout the whole car
Apex'i SAFC with Apex'i CAI
17'' RG Lightweights (10 spoke, no dish... they were put on ages ago when dish wasn't cool :p)
stock leather and woodgrain with sunroof and other usual Legend standard features
lol also have an S2000 'Engine Start' button
lowered only at the front with a custom front lip... will lower the rear end soon!
one day old rebuilt motor; new pistons, rings, valves, cams, port and polished, fuel pump and water pump
and to be honest i think that's all i can think of.. i'm sure there is more to it but not for now... will update if i can come up with it and nope... no dyno yet... really want 200hp (atw) but i am most likely dreaming, goes REALLY hard though... haven't actually let the engine run through yet (being the idiot that i am) and a 300ZX TT wanted a run, launched whereas i didn't but silly me tried to catch up... got within a cars length but couldn't make it before he turned off... kind of embarassing
anyways.. what kind of problems?
i don't know what is common in Legend's problem-wise but what happened to mine was i had a cracked piston valve? (well my sister did) and the radiator wasn't to right...
my sister thought that it was just using up more oil and coolant so every morning she would put in a bit more before she'd leave to wherever, what she didn't know is that it was just getting bigger anf bigger (the crack) and ended up leaving me with black / grey smoke for nearly half a year, didn't have the $$$ to fix it but when you save enough for a rebuild it should last another generation i think...
if you are still 'iffy' about it just buy it man, they are one of the smoothest cars out there and look the sh*t, some people that look don't even know what it is until they see the badge on the back... besides the norm of people telling me it looks decent i have even had natives say it's nice, now that's got to be saying something?
all the best dude, hope i didn't rant too long for you :o
Andy
where the hell did u find extractors! ive looked seriously every where no one makes them, un less u go custom. i want pics or ban :PQuote:

hey guys...
yeah everything has been done custom, i am in WA and all work was carried out with all Genie stuff.. everything mechanical done by XSpeed...
for the Legend you can't find sh*t... my mechanic wanted more parts but said they were too hard to find so what i could get as part of my rebuild was what i had to settle for... everything i got as part of the package wasn't necessary but was cheap if i got new parts so i decided to get more anyways...
haven't had any time to take pictures of late, when i do i will be sure to do so but i am hell busy lately and i am being serious :P
thanks,
Andy
so did your motor come out too fit the hedders? coz its DAM tight in there.
are u using the stock y-pipe?
to be honest, i really don't know...
was done before the rebuild and everything that was done before my ownership was done by my uncle which was the previous owner...
years ago actually, i only know about the rebuilt components, have been told it's a full system though and it's majorly loud =D
i see.
i think you better get some pics up, i wona see this!
lol...
i don't have a digicam but my sister's boyfriend has a hell good one... he also drives a TME! *DroOLz*
will take them asap, ignition DVD is coming to perth this friday too so it will be out then too
don't worry, i'll try to take some nice pictures and post them up, until then!
Andy

i'm not going to post up pictures i took months ago when the car was looking like sh*t to prove a point though, will allow the interested parties to have a look and express what they think of the car...
please take a moment of your time and check it out, any comments are welcome, positive and negative and when i DO get a digicam i will go with a few mates with their cars and take a few pictures and post them up on here

i believe in freedom of speech but i didn't know some of you on here were so rude and ignorant... hope i don't offend you but it's true
ta,
Andy
cant see a ''FULL custom BOSE home theatre throughout the whole car'' or ''FULL custom Genie exhaust with extractors and all that bullsh*t...''
and im not bein rude i just dont like BS :)
i already told you, those pictures were taken months ago and i do recall in my previous post 'half ass pictures'
the ones that i showed you were half ass photos...
will post up some good ones when i can, how can some people be so impatient that's what i want to know
come to perth and i'll let you check it out okay lol not like you would care, you seem to want to only prove a point...
that you're right and i'm wrong, it's not that way trust me mate
ill wait for the pics i want too see how yours is set up.
whats your ''FULL custom BOSE home theatre throughout the whole car'' set up consist of?
has front tweeters, at the bottom on the front hidden by the stock covers...
rear 6 x 9's and had nakamichi 6-stack in dash with crossfire amp running an SPL sub.. with the sub i'm not sure as to what it was, my uncle took out the sub and amp when he gave my sister the car...
deck remained with me though and i regretably sold it, looking for in dash DVD player and screen to replace the yucky stock deck... system still goes pretty hard though
ta,
Andy
i see, so its not Bose then?
and with your exhaust system do you know what size and if you are using the stock Y pipe?
lol... most the main components of the system are either BOSE or better for the setup...
with the exhaust i'm not too sure, i will take pictures, why are you so curious though... stop trying to prove me wrong because it won't work keyboard warrior
im intrested in your set up as ive had my exhaust done but only from y-pipe back, im intested in your hedders as i was goining to get mine done but it so tight in there the motor needs to be lifted out for them to be measured up and fitted.
just get the pics when you can.
mine is now for sale in the FS section if any of you legend owners have friends/family who are interested :)
post it in the for sale section buddy.
and as for FEI_STi_REX you are lame :)

its got seprate air conditing for the back, back seats are heated/movable, factory jdm gps tv. a hell of alot of extras. which in a way suck cause the ka7 manual doesnt include this version,.
thats some crazy extras, just shows how far advanced the jdm cars are compared to the adum market.
lol dhdevil.. what is your problem...?
you keyboard warrior
old jap luxury cars had loads of wierd extras, most of which were prob jus to try and outdo the other makers... ;) i nearly bought a legend but coodent find one in manual and had heard a couple of bad things concerning the reliability of the v6... very nice cars overall tho :)
Has any one got pics of full VIP style legends, cause at the end of the day that's what they are all about

nice legend mate
my mum jus bout one actually
its a 2001 model 3.5L
is pretty luxo ay
she only paid 15500 for it too and its only done 70 thousand od ks
lol my mum just picked up an 01 ka9 also hahaha
she paid $20k... but it was absolutely immaculate like it was straight from the showroom, pearl white looks good... will try get some photos of it this week before she trashes it lol
this is her old 91 coupe that she traded up from...
http://www.steve-o.com.au/pic/legendsold.jpg
i am VERY tempted to grab one of these just for a luxo cruiser when i dont feel like driving the R
^^^Tell me about it, theres a Legend on ebay at the moment, a real rare one.. I'd love to have it as a DD. The KA5's engine bay looks like a nightmare to work on though.
the KA7 & KA8s are nice... but getting parts is an absolute bitch, Honda Aus dont stock them anymore, and Honda Japan dont produce them anymore... a door handle for the coupe cost us $550 and had to come from japan, it was painted silver so it had to be resprayed to white aswell :(
but they're quite cheap now and can usually pick up decent quality ones
anyone up for a legend cruise in vic? im from melbourne and love cruises
I love the ka7 legends the best, the sedan looks soo nice done up. There are more aftermarket parts available in the US as well (though some engine parts are swappable with the ka9).
The only problem that puts me off is the age of them now and the head gasket overheating problems. Can pick up a ka7 for a couple grand easy in NZ.
Would make a great second car though. Too bad I can't afford a ka9 and a ka7.:(
Raz
Anyone considered or tried blacking out the front grill bars on the ka9 legend? Opinions?

i'd leave the legends stock, wouldnt fondle with them cause they look gawjuz already
color coding the car is a good idea, and very dark tint razaman, make it sleek :)
Any KB owner here???
My mum has a KB1 if that helps :p. They are nice cars.
Congrats on the purchase . What colour did you get?
She got the very first one sold in northern Tas when they came out in that charcoal colour. I think the car must be on 20-30,000ks at the moment, but not sure as I haven't been home in a while. No problems since except for a small power steering leak from a broken fitting, she had it fixed at honda, hopefully the low PS fluid did not harm the pump or the rack. It took ages for Honda to release the discs for the navigation, they did not have them for the first year. No other complaints.
Here is my car and my ma's car chilling in our driveway :p:

yfly im on the sunny coast but my legend is partly decommisioned for now. i just finished doing a c35 conversion into my ka7. im planning at some stage to do a write up on the conversion. just working out a few nigglies with it but went well. test drove it without a bonnet and exhaust lol. pm me if anyone wants to do the conversion i can give some tips
yup nother legend owner here i got the ka9 excellent car, reasonably quick with a few mods
Wonder when we will have the first owner of the latest Legend.... :)
97 Legend, Stock. Waves.
howdy 2 legend coupes 90 models,1 red an a blue one.
O K A Y...
My mum drives a Nissan Something! You know, the little one.
But I DRIVE A PRISTINE KA9 LEGEND. If I could find the right show, it's in Concourse condition. Genuine straighty-180. It is big. Has comfortable environs and ambience in the back seat. I know this because I've been complimented on this.
Oversteer, who needs it with all-cow-interior and Bose as stock.
In fact it's so big and heavy I need to get some of the creaky steering, trans-axle, etc fixed up.
After I get through the "Financial Crisis" I'm keen to fit a Double DIN DVD/radio etc. Not fused about the GPS, unless it comes with an A4 map, and I think I've got that covered.
Ineptitude with the photo upload at this stage. Will fix later.
Good to see a few more Legend owners on the forum. AOL is definetely where it is at though. Hopefully we will be able to have our own meet one day.
I have 4 Legends at the moment and am looking at purchsing my 5th in a couple of weeks. Another couple and I will have one for everyday of the week
