LOL might do same... so cbf sanding the little edges in the Integra Blades... probably use etch primer.
some newb questions..
how many black coats did you do ?
and do you have to wait til its completely dry to do another coat?
^ follow the can instructions
its generally an hour or two between coats
can do as many coats as you like, i generally like to lay down about 3
Yeh i've just done mine... i used 3 coats of black...
WASABI HERES A NOTE THAT U MUST FOLLOW, and no my caps lock isnt broken.. the paint has to dry off completely LIKE leave 24 hours if u have it before you clear coat. I used the clear coat on top like after 3 hours of drying and like the clear coat made the paint run off, and bubble and the clear grabbed onto itself kinda. Here's what happened.

My wheels were painted matt black. No clear coat and no chipping yet. Just make sure you prep the wheels right.
Fine sand it with wet/dry sand paper. Primer say a good 2-3 coats then the black. Let it set overnight and you'll be sweet.
Wasabi, you'll need around 4 coats. I let my wheels set about 10-15mins after each coat before applying the next.
Sitta It doesn't peel if its prepped right. I had my other set painted black and did 2 mountain runs, alot of carwashs and gravel carparking with no chipping. This was done for around 1 year or so.

Bumping an old thread, what brand paint would you recommend for gunmetal colour?
I found a brand called duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint but they don't seem to sell it in Australia, abyone know where I can get this from?
great savings :D
nicely done
Easier to just use brake caliper spray, no primer needed as it has a primer in it, gives great finish ,have done it quite a few times never peals
my rims is full white colour and I decide to spray to Matt/Flat black.
will I need primer?
Yes!!!
Read the thread. Since you are painting you need to prime the surface but more importantly it seems worth while to sand before priming!!
yea i suggest u sand down the surface with 600 grit first, then primer it then sand it again with 1200, primer again then sand with 1200 then start the painting.
What gunmetal paint do you suggest G-Stick?
nice write up
Anybody know what I should do about painting my rims when the wheels have deep gutter scratches. Like bad gutter rash not just on the lip but on the wheel stars themselves? Is there like a metal putty/filler I can use before painting?
good diy i give 9 / 10 tbh
hey guys still sorta new here, didnt no where to post this, didnt wana start new thread....

as you can see, used a lid to cover wheel spkes, was to lazy to tape/newspaper off tyres so got another wheel and sprayed tyres....
of course, its better taping off the tyres
nice looking gen2 you got there, do you have an intro thread??
I would love to see more pics of it..........
LOL very innovative with the plate covering the spokes.. nice work and looks great!
is it ok if i dnt sand paper de rims man??would be find??
the finished result relies a lot on the prep side so i say no.. w/o sandpaper wont be great
yea.. like .k. said, prepping is the important for a good finish. i used 400-800 grit wen i spray my other set of wheels
also i think during prep etc, sanding the wheels down helps to scuff the surface up a bit so paint is able to "stick" better?
how long did it take to do all four?
back then it took me and my mate all day, now a days it takes 2-3 hrs including sanding
what do you guys do to the inside of the wheels? do you guys paint them too???
i got white wheels, im sick of cleaning it, and wanted to go black, but it would be odd if the inside is white...
any idea? and oh there is the JDM sticker too =p LOL!!
any problem with chipping? or paint comming off??
what is the recommended paint ? gloss or flat?
quick question.....can you get fluoro yellow rim paint?
