Has anyone driven the new Civic sport 2L?

i've driven both and agree - the paddle shift is pretty much the same, and nothing special. it is nice to have that extra control though, esp when you want the car to change up and the auto box thinks otherwise...

another important thing that i haven't seen mentioned before is that the civic is anticipated to have a 5-star safety rating, whereas the accord euro only has 4.

also the sunroof is real nice :)

With both front/rear curtain airbags in addition to the standard set, the Civic Sport is almost certain to achieve a 5 star rating. Seeing how well it's done in safety assessments around the world.

It's a real pity (and kudos to Honda for smart marketing at the expense of people's lives) that the curtain airbags are only available in the top-of-the line Sport model.

And I agree, the sunroof is very nice - especially for airing out a car on a hot day.

The Sports model also has a stiffer suspension than the standard VTI/VTI-L. Handling and refinement isn't up on par with the Euro though.

oh really? i had no idea about the suspension when i bought mine, i thought the only performance enhancements were engine and tyres. where did you read about the suspension?

it should be dif suspension, and larger brakes due to larger engine etc etc

suspention is the same, breaks the same only diffs are engine, wheels and electic powered sterring as aposed to power steering (hydolic)

Depends what state you're in. But those on road costs seem fairly accurate. Dealer delivery is usually $1495, plus stamp duty normally ranges from $500+, then theres also registration and CTP/transport insurance.

On road costs for the Accord should actually be more because the higher the price, the more the stamp duty.

Once the demand slows down a bit, you should able to get the Civic on the road for just the RRP price (free on roads cost). If you want it now, then you have to fight with the others who are willing to pay full on roads just to get the car first.
