Plus when you sign the contract you buy it at that price, they cant just bump up the price and say oh you owe us an extra 1000 because the prices went up... its on the contract you pay what you signed for

i think the illegality of it comes in with the misrepresentation of information (in this case prices) that the dealer told me were fixed by honda HQ, who in fact knew nothing of a price increase, and under contract law, misrepresentations can render a contract void...nothing really to do with the fact i signed a contract with a certain price, because while that is the fact of it, i wouldn't have signed it where it not for the misrepresentation (and the fact the dealer had caused me to believe that he was dropping the price more so than he actually had). they told me beforehand that the prices had gone up and i signed assuming they were telling the truth.
^ UNLS1 (as far as I know) works for a honda dealership in melbourne - salesmen I'm guessing.
I thought only the sport model has vsa as a standard. I do not recall that the vti and vti-l models have vsa. Although i could be wrong so UNLS1 please confirm =]
so far its hybrid lol and sport with vsa. will confirm later today bout others.
***edit
just confirmed, sport and hybrid with vsa thats it.
ive already delivered 2 08 model VTis and no VSA.
coz honda put the price up!
they do that now and again.
thx for the infos
i'm getting the idea that i'm getting screwed. i posted before that i found out i was getting an MY08 (the principle told me that, but it was after hours and he didnt sound too sure of himself) and i just rang the sales guy and he told me im getting MY07 with '08 compliance. now im either geting MY08 or i paid the $300 price increase on an MY07!! can anyone clarify if the price increase applies to MY07 '08 compliance vehicles?
geez i give up. now ANOTHER salesman has informed me on the computer, i am listed as having ordered a MY08 vehicle with '08 compliance, so i am happy. you people must think im nuts for ringing so many times to check this crap, but i keep getting a different story!

cupu-80, u should do some comparison before u put the deposit from different dealers. don't let dealer know u are really want to get the car asap. but if u are not good at bargain or no much experience on it, this is good experience. Congratulation again! I know what ur feeling when own a first new car!

Hi,
Just wondering what other people think about a quote for $34,884 for a Honda Civic Sports 08 Model 2.0 Manual. This is a initial quote without any negotiating and trying to determine the lowest price i can get this down to!
I am thinking around 30k is possible.
Thanks
My sister's boyfriend works for Honda Rick Damilian so I can get cheaper prices for cars/parts ;)
*Bump*
Anyone with an update on the price? I'm keen to get an Auto Civic Sport. How much on the road?
Planning to get Vti soon... hope i can get a good deal. any suggestion of how to huggle down the price with dealer?

Yeah drive away , was too hasty so missed out the chrome tips, bought it at larke hoskins roseberry.
yea that exactly what i wanna get!! also slim number plates
do i just tell him this is the list of accessories i want and ask how much he can give me? or do i just with the price i willing to spend and keep asking for more accessories?
i don't don't mind paying 25k if he willing to throw in 5 yrs warranty
Put everything you want in a list (including warranty, slim premium plates and full tank of fuel). Go to the dealer, check the car out, tell him it is a nice car and you are in the market to buy a car today (i.e. ready to sign the dotted line today). Ask for a test drive. Tell him your price (which is say 22k if your limit is 25k). Then he will say too cheap and list out the RRP for each accessory. Then you ask him what is his price. Then he will try to push it back to you and not give a number other than RRP. Then after more empty talk, he should ask you what is the highest price you can offer. Then you say $23500 (for example). If he likes it, he will go to the "back room to talk to the manager".
Once you get it, he will ask for a deposit to secure the car. Tell him $50. Then if you decide to forfeit because of personal reasons, you're only out of pocket by $50. Heck, go $100 if you have to. But don't go too much, you don't want to lose a crazy amount. Some ppl put 5% of the car price, which I think is stupid. $50 is all you need. It is just a "gesture" that you are commited to the sale.
Remember, always be ready to walk out if you don't get your price. If your max is 25k, and he offers 25.5k and no lower, you walk.
Thanks aaronng,
so when i first tell him the price i should show him what accessories i want too right?
i am really happy that i found ozhonda haha. i thought i have to pay at least 25k for auto vti without any accessory since RRP of vti is 23,790 + stamp duty and all that!!
List all the accessories you want first before talking price. Make you get don't forget anything. Don't let them mislead you by showing you how much the accessories RRP prices are. RRP is RRP, the cost price is much lower. Only talk about driveaway price. That is all you are interested in. Oh and don't get tricked into getting the paint protection. :)
aaronng... is it ok to open the price less than the RRP on Honda website?
why?? Paint protection bad for the car or you can get it done somewhere else for cheaper?
are you sure ,that sounds crazy
Is it manual or auto?
what are the accessories?
where did u get it?
never believe what double R said... -_-" and he bought a 36k FN2R becoz he just realise that he got ripped off when he purchase one for $43,500 on July last year... XD
and i thinking does he even own a Honda, or just day dream all the time at the bed.
Yeah, I reported him just yesterday.
hahaha. thanks, aarong.
now that loser can go back to playing with his limited edition Hot Wheels cars.
