you wont need the MAP sensor for low boost and you will need injectors to start with not later on down the track

ummm.... does anyone know if theres a suitable generic/non oem o2 sensor for a 92/93 da9 (4 wire one just before the cat)
and any ideas as to why my front passenger wheel is squeaking/squealing at really low speeds like the brake pads not
fully releasing the rotor? it only just happened for the first time dismorning and I'm wondering if theres anything I should get from repco at lunch to be able to fix it up tonight. sorry that's all I've got to go on at the moment.
does anyone know which wire or sensor i have to trace to find out why my hand brake light is constantly o before i rip my whole interior apart?
mines doing that to apparently its according to dad the wear mark saying change ur pads but i dont know if thats right ill let u kno on saturday
i wouldnt be surprised the car gets driven hard most days and ive had mine for a while and never looked at the brakes so ill let u know...
as for hondata
whats the diff between s300 and s200 besides 50 bucks u get anti lag, and a few others and its got usb data logging etc. its worth the 50 i think
but i think i should do it right the first time and not learn from my mistakes coz i hate rebuilding motors and i try not to open things up if i dont have to... ive learnt from my supra thats enough learning for me i think
i think the map sensor will be alrite and im nearly certin the injectors would b fine to....
but im in perth and i dont know who tunes these other types of ecu....
its just like the supras gettin the engine management the greddy ecu is cheap but no one can tune it there fore u spend more money gettin some muppet to try tune it and u rebuilding a motor 4 times because ur tryin to save a few hundred bucks im still tossing up between what ill need....
i know the kms are high on the motor so i want it to last long enough for me to have some fun and maybe get a track day in
speaking of which whats the go with LSD for a da9 im lookin at one but dont know where to start
the hand brake switch is on the hand brake lever and its not that hard to get to usually the switch is the drama, id check that first
Does any1 know about installing a B16 or B18c (vtec) head onto a B18a block?
Can it be done? Has any1 done it?? :honda:
Cheers A-man, the noise just went away by itself, unfortuneately I put about 100k on the clock before it did without having the chance to look at it. so who knows maybe it was just a rock in the heatshield or something.
Garrett, google lsvtec. it has been done.
Golden eagle make a kit for it (headstuds, gastket, and oil lines), but it's one of those things, the $$$ will start adding up pretty fast to do it properley and if you try to cheap out on it it'll likely cost more in the long run.
anyone got any ideas on the o2 sensor. I asked honda spares for a price and remember it be >$300
maybe ask a exhaust shop i think thats alot of money for a sensor....
putting a b16a head on a b18a block is a cheaper option and it has been done theres a civic in hot fours a while ago with 300kw with this and a turbo aswell
you can get a bosch replacement o2 sensor from memory was around 70 bux..
for 300 you can almost get a wideband o2 sensor kit..
300 bucks u could nearly get a whole new engine
ive broken engine mounts im going to upgrade them if anyones interested in getting some stronger ones made sing out... im not sure how im going to do this yet.
Whats a good turbo size for the B18a/b's? T28 or T3? Also has anyone tried an IHI TD04 or TD05 on one of these engines?
a-man, did u check out g2ic? they have sponsor specials on innovative mounts??
hey, after my conversion (b18a auto to b18c manual) my brake lights are always on? i have no idea where to start to fix it
whats going on?
Its probably your brake light switch or the stopper attached to the pedal. Have a look in the drivers side foot well its pretty easy to find.
i havent looked but the mounts arent in australia u know
the turbo i have is a T3 flange a .50 exhaust and .63 intake housing....
theres huge turbos they puttin on them in the us doing like 12sec quarters like a t78 etc. its pretty big turbo and would prob b a lag monster...
i think mine would b a happy medium.. i think from what ive heard mines surposed to make full boost at 3000rpm
[QUOTE=gumbs;1512811]Its probably your brake light switch or the stopper attached to the pedal. Have a look in the drivers side foot well its pretty easy to find.[
still on! what can i do now?
the brakes shouldnt b hooked up to the ecu. the wiring shouldnt be to hard to follow where it goes etc. the braking switch might be buggered... or it might be shorting out somewhere... its not uncommon especially u have done a engine conversions things like that happen
So pushing the switch doesn't turn them off? Try taking the plug off and shorting the two connections. If they still aren't off then I'd say you've shorted out a wire somewhere and it went from an easy fix to a world of pain.
its not that bad of a job...
my DA9 always has the problems with hoses.
is it some way to prevent them?
say, change the material of the hose?ha.
the reason why your always having problems with hoses is because either
1. all your hoses have aged and theyve never been changed ?
2. you could be having pressure problems ? cracked head gasket ? blocked radiator ? etc
What kind of problems are we talking about Sherwood?
donnot know...ive changed couple times since last august.
hannys tells me everthings fine..except for aged..
r we talking about cooling system lines coz its not overly expensive to change them to silicon...
the most expensive ones are the top and bottom radiator hoses....
hoses r really annoying when it bleeds out the coolant
Good thread guys... It's very helpful as I'm getting one of these babies (when I find the right one) shortly.
wat gearboxes will fit the da9
what r they???
S1 is JDM b16a (short ratio)
YS1 comes in both short ratio (b17a and i think obd1 b16a) and long ratio (92/93 b18a integra)
not too sure about the y1
i believe they are also cable gear box. to run hydro you must already have a hydro box or have to modify or add a hydro conversion kit.
Y1 is from an EF B16 CRX but will still fit a DA
S1 in the aussie DA9s too but with long ratios
so whats involved to put a lsd on the stock da9 gbox? say from a ef b16 or the aussie da9s and where can u get em from
different front and rear bar and also slightly more powerful
nicer interior trim
hey, what size dimeter is the stock b18c throttle body? what size CAI piping would fit?
its the same as the b18a i think
maybe 3 inch?
maybe??
i was close to 3 inch
hey anyone done a clutch before????? and anyone got any idea how much id be lookin at in parts?
No more then a grand for a standard clutch.
Also, where the hell can i get some toda individual throttle bodiies for my tegg!?!?
Thats fitted btw.
Mine was done just before i bought it. =]
is it a prick of a job?
i got a quote for 250 for parts ill prob do it myself i am surposed to be a plant mechanic
My dad changed his clutch afew years back.. he has been a mechanic for 20 years.. and it almost took him a day
yeh my old boy a mechanic and i am to and i dont think we will have it done in a few hrs some how...
do u remove the gearbox or can u do it in situ somewho we were just going to take it out...
change the clutch... without removing the gbox ?? are you serious ??
thats not a very good start... might take you a few weeks lol
Ye just loosen the housing bolt's and slip er in.:D
Seriously though this may be of help, http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/b...tch/clutch.php
:P easy
let u sknow how long it took
heyy, in the market for a front strut bar? anyone got one? where can i get one? anything interchangable with other cars? heard dc2's might fit it.. confirmation please =)
pm me if you can :D
i would also like to know, i 2 heard dc2?
yes dc2 fit. ebay has them, cusco have them. just warning, it wil be a tight fit with your air con line, and the fusebox. but it will fit if u undo some aircon line mounting bolts and u may have to loose one of ur fuse box screws so the mounting plate will fit on
r we racing for the clutch change :P
its either change the clutch or buy a b18c box and engine....
how many kms usually does a b18a last mines done nearly 170xxx
as for strut braces...
check ebay in the us they have everything for da9s
just ebay 90-93 integra
or da integra and then the year
u will find like 20 pages of items
a week ago they had a SET of strut braces for 40 us and 110 shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...spagenameZWDVW
my da9 has just under 240 000 and ive owned it for nearly 15 and thrashed it nearly every moment of it
everyone if prego sells his da9, make sure he underprices it hard =)
had a stock b20 in mine, beat vtir's!!
.... mmmm im gettin shitty coz sometimes when the weathers hot the car wont start its either the fuel relay or the fuel pump i duno which but
yeh they fit, u just have to put it Under the fusebox and u have to unclip the aircon lines and...move them to somethwere else, my one barely misses the intake manifold it has some scratch marks where i think its hit...i dunno...
i got mine from ebay, same as my rear one
definitely the fuel relay... just resolder it
if you desperate when it doesnt start in summer.. just reach under and give it a bit of a tap.. but this will only work for so long (as i discovered)
for the record.. my b18a survived a timing belt snap and 340,000kms, i didnt even blow the engine but just changed it with a b16a coz i got bored. during that time i also chipped it with a $5 ebay chipped which allowed me to rev to 8000 (i did this regularly). didnt do anything or make the car go faster.. just revved the shit out of it lol
so its just under the steering collumn
i have just bought a hyperrev or hyperspeed or somethin book for parts on da9s its a bible, also for dc2s etc. if anyones chasing parts when it gets here give me a hoy and ill give u the part numbers for it
i have just removed the clutch with dad and we got it out in 3 hrs.....
anyone else want to beat it be my guess :P
nice aman...i would never be bothered with stuff like that...too lazy...
btw..anyone know if someone in australia have done a 5 stud conversion for their DA yet?!?!?
are the front of the JDM DA integras same as AUDM. If i want to use front end parts from a JDM DA, will i be able to?
what parts??? most of them r alrite... i dont c y u wouldnt be able to
check this out u can dl a pdf of the da integras
http://www.spoonhonda.com/downloads.htm
I had that same problem.. my dad rekons its the one of the terminals..
I discovered that i forgot to tighten one ^^ lmao
i sold my integra today :(
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...an%20DA9/3.jpg
bye bye car :(
the parts aren't "the same", but they should bolt up fine. the fenders have thin side moldings, and bumpers have amber indicators, etc some other stuff.
My car is an AU with a 4 door jap front on it, ****ing lieing wreckers.
From memory the differences are
Foglights instead of second high beam.
aerial in bumper
different thermo fans and mounting brackets
radiator has different size hoses (smaller)
headlights have different plugs
Thats all I can remember at the moment, I haven't had any heating problems with mine despite the worse radiator and thermos. The yellow foglight cover thingo can be removed easily buy using a heat gun to melt the glue and taking the lense off.
CF
How much did you end up getting for your DA? Whats next on your plans?
thats not an ariel in the bumper thats a parking pole lol
and they were sorta rare. i have one!!! not hooked up though, pointless stuff
im thinkin of selling mines aswell.... its really getting to me
lol u barely started turboing yet
i know....
now to save me time wheres the pgm fi relay so i can fix it....
and has anyone changed a fuel pump?
