As the Motor Show starts (for the public) at 5pm tonight, i'm sure there will be a bunch of photos of the new Accord soon.
new monaro concept! sweet
They should be seen more and more next mth
Just paid my deposit today for a black V6-L
Maybe they will grow on me, i saw one drive past but havnt had a close look yet.
just seen one.. not bad, looks like the trend now is "square shape"
10 days - it's on the boat from Taiwan. I also added the bluetooth kit, not sure if it's worth it yet ($795). I noticed the accessories/options are heaps dearer at honda compared with holden , although the price for a calais is 10K dearer... go figure. I did a quote online @ holden for a calais v6 and then added all the accord lux extras and ended up around 56K (compared with 47K accord).
Also, another minor I noticed about new Accord is that the stereo has an external auxillary jack + 12v outlet inside the center console - really handy for mp3 players (it's connected via the headphone jack). :)
:honda: Honda fans You've got to go and check this car out, pictures do not justify how good this car is. It makes holden and ford look like junk in my opinion. :honda:
I will upload pic when she's delivered.
Fantastic! sounds pretty damn exciting :)
ya, boat from Thailand maybe correct, haha. anyway, great pick. how about its sound system, it stated as premium sound but i don't know how good is it? coz honda's factory speaker seems all just soso.
I haven't actually been to the Thailand assembly plant, but have been told by dealer it is made in Thailand but designed by Honda branches in Germany, USA and Japan for the global market. Eg. You can see some BMW 6/7 series influence in the body.
I expect the sound system to be superb because the Luxury V6 has a sub-woofer and splits. That means 2xTweeters on the dash and 4x mid-range speakers plus 1xSub (under the rear bench behind the back seats).
ya, just wait and see
sometimes the cargo shipment, from Thailand, have to go to somewhere else first (lets say Taiwan) to pick up something, and continue (lets say Philipines), and after that go to here. That's why sometimes if we shipped something using sea services cargo, it would take 3 months. rarely from Thailand straight to here, because only (lets say) half full of container in that ship.
can;t wait also :-)
nope, i wouldnt have a clue where they are now. but they'll never be as good as when they were built in japan.
8th Gen Civic and Accord all made by Thailand for sure, I said that due to serval articals from Aus site and local dealer here, and their quality is not worst than made by Japan.
ya, see to believe!
Saw the accord today..It looks good, better than the last gen..Still deciding between this and the new euro..
ya, this is tough decision to ever made for myself !!
Saturday Night in Darwin. And not a single new Accord has yet set "tyre" here. Apparently they're still on the train from Adelaide: Not that any of you first class Australian citizens would care. But it is the normal treatment for us frontier people. We only got our first new model Mazda 6 yesterday.
V6 with VCM won me over. The New Euro looks like a nice update of styling and features, whereas the Accord is complete upgrade. I traded in my 06 Euro-Lux for the V6-Lux.
Looking forward to changing. BTW.. does anyone know how to change the login user name, I need to make mine more generic.:p
Can someone check if the new Accord has the same remote all-window open function as the Euro; whereby if one presses the unlock button on the key once to unlock and then hold it down, all the windows power-down.
Or even the power-up and power-down function with the key in the driver's door lock: If one manually unlocks the Euro using the key and then rotates the key in the same direction and hold it, all the windows power-down with the opposite function when one locks the car.
Thanks in advance.
I need to check this out as well
i have the accord 2007 model....
when i unlock the car then press down on the unlock button....alll the windows go down....
how do you make it go back up via the remote?
does the new V6-L come in a manual version or still only auto.. soz for noob Q but really wish mine was a Manual and next car will be one for sure.. also pm me a price just for curiosity sake if ya could plz
The new accord only come with auto version, its price can check from Honda AUS website, cheers
cheers mate thanks for quick reply
Presumably, the new model will also have this feature. This still needs confirmation please.
You cannot make the windows go back up with the remote unless you get a kit that allows you to modify the way it works. There was a recent thread about this in the Euro section.
They have arrived in Darwin (at last). First thing I tried with the chief mechanic and a salesman watching. The windows definitely do not power up or down either with the key in the door lock or via remote.
The three of us were disappointed. However, there's lots of other nice kit.
Actually, the car did not look as big as it's size-reputaion but it has good leg room. It's not very wide. The new Euro is supposedly 3 inches wider than the current model. That would probably make it as wide as the new Accord.
They are differnce car basicly. Accord aim for comfortable and euro aim for sport and driving experence. I think new accord already gain more points on euro aspect. People will do their own decision on one of them. They are all good car which under Honda's reputation.
$795 for a bluetooth kit? ouchy
you do realise the dealer gets it for $160 and makes a 500% profit yeah? :p
Reeding dat grives mea hreadache kekeke
Saw the new accord (silver) at the dealers the other day, not a bad looking car in reality  The new euro's gonna stand out from it though ;)
Very nice car..
Im currently considering buying the VTi-L or Euro..not too sure which one i should go for.
My budget was originally 30k but now it's around the 40 mark.
Ill b driving on the Freeway 80% of the time maybe more. so i need something good on fuel.
Also i need it to be roomy, because im 6,2 and usually when i do drive other ppl around it's a full car or ppl just as tall as i am.
Any suggestions?
Go for new accord, it provide more room than euro. but go to one of honda dealer and find it out by urself!
dealers are different on blue tooth kits. we dont charge 795 for our one!
Saw one on the road this morning. For some reason, it looks smaller than the previous 2007 Accord.
do u guys think the price will drop for the accord euro due to this new release?
i am in the market for a euro
yes that normal coz its an old model once the new once comes out!
Ya, maybe, mate, I try to get some accessories when i place an order for the new accord. and as result, I just prefer get the free floor mat, coz their accessories are all overprice. And i think i can get them without honda brand at lower price outside and get more choices.
UNLS1, how many new accord just out of showroom in your dealership?
how much did people pay for the Accord they just got?
my sister is thinking about buying one
yeah the first thing I asked at the launch of the new Accord was "where's the bloody bluetooth ?!?!?!"
surely it isnt THAT much of an expense and I bet all of the customers would happilly pay a couple of hundred bucks more for an integrated Bluetooth system !!
what about the rear view mirror! just a standard one.
rear view mirror? what is about?
http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/H.../RightRear.jpg
that rear looks better
i want one too and fit the 22's i got sitting in back yard lol
hey, UNLS1, rear view mirror? what is about?
I think it's a reverse camera.
automatic day/night rear view mirror. the same thats in the euro and legend.
only the V6L get a reversing camera. its located above the number plate
I agree with Chris_F. The USA car rear end looks nicer and it's because it doesn't have the "bling" extra red lenses. The rears are otherwise the same. It's the low camera angle that makes it look good. However, the car has a bit of a Hyena stance when you see it from the normal higher angle.
Oh, I see. This is unfair, it even doesn't choose as a optional item.
We miss out on lots of things in Australia:
The European Accord, the Legend and the CR-V get radar controlled cruise control that maintains a safe distance from the car in front; applying brakes if necessary (like Benz). The European Accord and the CR-V get lane change warning and the CR-V gets stability assistance not just for the vehicle itself but for any trailer that it might be towing.
And then we have this new Accord that in top-of-the-line trim in the USA costs the equivalent of AU$31,400 (plus their equivalent of on-road costs); it has more equipment and it's built in relatively high labour cost USA. We get the low labour cost Thai built version and it costs AU$46,990 (plus on road costs). Why do we get to pay AU$15,590 more than the Yanks?
Put into Perspective, our 4 cylinder base model costs almost as much as the USA V6 top-of-the-line model!!!
^ have a read of this thread
http://english.martinvarsavsky.net/g...n-america.html
thx man!
u cant compare costs to the rest of the world. its silly.
theres so many reasons why the costs are different and why we get some things and miss out on others.
there has been plenty of threads about it!
Personal opinion,
the rear end looks like it came from a beamer The side anyways.

And the front end looks like the Hyundai Sonata!

So its a no go for me. Yeah Sounds like an awsome car, But not for me.
I'm gonna wait for the New Euro...
pick up my car today, very happy!
There is nothing silly about Australians being ripped-off big time!!! And that website reference (http://english.martinvarsavsky.net/g...n-america.html) does nothing to explain it apart from saying it's the way it is. I mean; "because Americans are not used paying high prices". One bloke even starts off saying cars are cheaper in USA then finishes by saying they are cheaper in Europe. What a load of cods-wallop! Maybe we should become un-used to paying high prices.
Absolute proof of the entrenched rip-off is the Accord: Virtually the same car: One made in the relatively high labour cost USA and the other made in the low labour cost Thailand. Yet we pay a $AU15,000 premium. For what? Somone is having a lend of us and it's Honda and all of the other manufacturers.
the accord has one of the most impressive interiors..
exterior wise.. the side profile reminds me of the hyundai sonata, though.
