HAHHHAHHA ......... pillioning a person isnt cool anywais esp on a 250. ohh the horrors, esp if they dont know what they are doing.
lean against you or lean too much = fall. and that is fail when you at macquarie pass
^ Yes, but do those sales figures include the CT110?
ok anyway. i think the cbr pretty much owns r6, so this thread pretty much done.
established only things r6 has over cbr are:
- better looks (i still prefer headlights on cbr over bug eyed r6, but love the gunmetal R6 fairings and the rims)
get a gsx r 600 yer its not a honda but on the road stock out of the box they are the best performer hands down. and they have sex written all over them.
Of most the 600cc sports bikes, WHY ONLY CBR600RR NO SLIPPER CLUTCH?????? Hate to be doing 10K-16K rpm then accidently dropdown a gear... That turned me down as i was about to buy the bike last year... but got my gixxer now and slipper clutch is great and i did accidently gear down on high revs...
^^ the fireblade 1000cc model has it now. which means it will be brought out in the next 600rr, and will pwn even more.
lol ... slipper clutch is mainly for track use imo ...
Well YES OFCOURSE... but also a safety thing for street riding...try downshifting at even 6-8000 revs on 600cc? Oh wait, try it on a 250cc... see yourself lockup rear wheel and skid your way through the streets.doesn't have to be too high revs or or high speed... I've locked up on the cbr250 changing gears from 3rd to 2nd at aroudn 30-40kph... it locked up and skid a little... though i didn't control my clutch smooth enough...
*what am i saying...I guess you're all experts, dont need to rely on these things...haha.
LOL ... it would be nice if i had it hahaha ...
but yeh i do know what you mean
No.. how do you figure that??
for a start the CBR has won every world super sport title since i can remember..
second i have never heard anyone who knows what they are talking about say that the r6 is better.
read through the following test properly make sure you go to both pages aswell.. its no coincidence the yamaha comes last everywhere.
http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs...600-82371.html
^^ i think on circuit, the r6 will post a slightly faster lap time than cbr. the 08 model due to its improved mid range and the typical high end power of r6 is a big factor in this.
though unless ur purchasing ur bike purely for track. cbr has it beat in every other area even handling. yamaha apparently have sacrificed all areas of streetability (hence coming in last place of the above shoot out), for this track advantage
in the end, probably comes down to personal preference in looks and brand loyalty etc.
typeR positive obviously a r6 fanboy :P fair nuf tho, they are an awesome bike.
you guys are forgetting the stability in parts of the corner, the ability for it to tip in and chassis of the bike etc ... all this power talks makes me sick =p
r6 end of story when you own one you will know :P
lol true
well the 09 CBR600RR is released.

CBR best Race bike best Road bike.
CBR wins all the supersport races and all the magazine shoot outs.
Ok close this thread now please. :)
wins all super sport? LOLOLOLOLOLOL OK BUDdY !
Ok whens the last time the Honda CBR600 didn't win the world super sport championship?
obviously our definition of supersport differs. to me supersport is pretty much every japanese sports bike out there. no one watches super sport championships =p
Our definition ?? well super sports have always meant 600's in the motorcycle industry.
No one watches world supers? maybe just you don't watch world super sports.
and maybe you don really know much about bikes..lol
I get annoyed that soo many people on here have no idea what they are talking about.. and just go around making up facts out of thin air.
OMG internet keyboard warriors!
all personal choice i say!
well in that case you are partially wrong. supersports are considered 600s, and thats tru the supersport championship has been one by honda the last 5 years or so. But isnt australian super bike still considered a supersport? from what i remember stauffer won in the year 07 with his yammie r6
who watches world super sports :P
only thing with the r6's and r1's is u cant really go on long cruises because of the way the bike is positioned you have a lot of your own body weight on your arms after a while your arms will kill ya. i'd got the cbr
arms? forget about yur arms. its your back that kills lol
wins all supersports? wake up to yourself mate !
LOl dude you have no clue mate! maybe you don't know your bikes, stick to your s2k mate. maybe your just reading from forums and assuming all this rubbish.
im getting annoyed that your saying all this bull! you seriously have no idea do you? hondas win all? LOL @ U! these are facts mate they dont win all end of story!
End of the day the decision is with the buyer.
I too was in the same situation R6? CBR600? but in the end I got a Gixxer 600.
Best thing to do is take the bikes out for a ride and see what feels more comfortable.
I had my eyes set on the R6 but after riding my friends R6 i was disappointed at how bumpy the ride was...
CBR600 was nice but it just didnt have that appeal to me.
Gixxer600 looks great, goes great, and fell like the perfect fit. took it for a spin and thats when i knew thats the one...
In the end of the day guys.. its ur own choice... not really a great idea asking what other people would get... u just get mixed results..
just my 2 cents..
What are you saying the Honda CBR600 hasn't won every title for the last 6 years?
Every thing i say is based on facts and i dont say anything unless i can back it up..
and here you go.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supersport_racing
I've been riding bikes for over 20 years and followed bike racing all my life.
yes.. the CBR600 has dominated world super sports since 2003 and Pretty much win all the races. Andrew pitt won the title for ten kate Honda again last weekend actually.
BTW i work in the motorcycle industry for a pretty big company
So if you want to know anything feel free to ask me ;p lol
Of course i agree that its all up to personal choice.
if i was going to choose another super sport (600cc) i'd go for the GSXR600
then id go for The ZX6.
The R6 would be dead last on my list.
But CBR600 would be first on my list and you can go back and read the links i put up a few pages back to find out why. :P
^ he knows his shit ! RESPECT.. lol im so bias !!
awaiting na-118's reply ROFL
Why not go for the CBR 1000 RR if you're going for '08 models?
It's a little pocket rocket and just sits into those turns soooooooooooo smoothly... It's like a luxury car with supercar handling and power!
Actually it's better :P
Actually if you were serious about these bikes you would only use it for weekend rides/track days.
For day to day commuting it would get tiring very very quick.
go hard or go home if you cant hack a sportsbike get ex-postie. some hardcore rider you are , what about guys that ride boneshakers (hardtails with no suspension) back in the day and many still do ride hardtails
my thoughts
Get whatever you test ride that suits you,
Everyones bum is different. :)
and dont bother reading those mags n bike tests saying this is better or whaetver,
not like you will feel the difference anyways,
so what if the 675 is a better bike in the reviews ( i know its only r6 n cbr)
but when u ride it. your ass hurts. .. jsut an example.
YES i agree, every bum is different, every review is different. At the end of the day its personal preference, its not like anyone is going to use the full potetntial of the bike on road, its rather the positioning of the body. more racy = more sore body
once i get my fulls next year il probably look at getting an 07-08 R6. So sexual looking
never said i was a hardcore rider......and once you get a few more years under your head then you would realise what im trying to say. These bikes will only be used to their potential on the race track....and even then maybe at 7/10 limit. You ever wonder why you see so many sports bikes for sale after 6 months or so???
Whats with people on here trying to be so hard and all........last i looked this wasnt a fitness first gym
If the ride doesnt feel right on the test ride, cant you adjust the settings to your preference with the factory gear?
(test ride being more than just around the block)
I mean, usually bikes of this calibre have some decent components from factory, like preload and damper adjustability right?
just because it feels too hard or too soft with factory settings doesnt make it a bad bike,
in the end i think it comes down to ergonomics, the fit of the bike. if it feels somewhat natural and not at all awkward its usually a good sign.
power, torque and peakiness are more the thing you should be looking for when test riding and again it comes down to your riding style and or preference, the handling can usually be sorted out later on with fine tuning. then again same goes for power and torque aswell. (not cheaply)
If your serious about buying a bike, take it over the weekend or atleast a day.
personally I like naked bikes.
practical for weekday riding & more than capable at the track.
out of the 2 r6 or cbr 600.
they both look aggresive the r6 just a tad angrier, but ive always had a thing for under tail exhausts.
that and honda reliability plus that nice sound with a yoshi pipe..... grrrr
CBR for me.
cbr 600 rr only cause i own one but yea a r6 in black step the f#$% back
Just go buy both !
R6 all the way!
mate i own a 08 suzuki gsxr 600,
last year when i was in the market for a 600, i did my research and ended up with the suzuki, it was either this or the cbr...
i did lots of research and these are the best two 600s of 08 , i ended up with the suzuki because it had a lower seating height and was about 1k cheaper than the cbr...
all in all i didnt like the yamaha much at all, i felt the suzuki and honda handled better, and was testing the kawasaki i think i was just being bias because kawasaki have just never really float my boat
I agree. CBR or GSXR are the best supersports.
i got a cbr600rr 08 and a 07 gixxer 600 in my garage now and i can tell you both are great bikes. however im still getting a r6. why? i loved it when it first came out.
dont worry about what a bloody review says get a bike you want to ride.
give you an exmaple: one review i read says cbr is comfortable however i find it that it hurts my ass for long rides, i tend to sit fairly close to the tank and the cushion at the front is quiet narrow compare to the gixxer n r6. not enough support for me. and if you sit back, you will be leaned over more, thus making your back sore or arms sore.
so go test ride one and see how comfortable you fit in it. ofcourse the longer you get to ride the bike the better it is for you to decide.
