Well thats a bit excessive to say air con takes out 170km's per tank, it might realistically be 50-100kms. It really depends on your driving style, yes its true that air con puts more strain on your engine while your driving so my suggestion is only turn your air con on after the car has been driving for bout a minute, turn it off when ur going up a massive hill, turn it off when your car has reached a nice temperature you could settle for 10 mins without constant air con and just let the outside air flow through cuz that air will be cold for a little while.
If you do all that, u will be sure to conserve some fuel.
about 33L = 400km occasional thrashing. premium unleaded, dont use my aircon much; but always blast stereo/subs... this would be suburban/city driving.
d16 engine, EK civic. only mod is catback exhaust (don't see how that'd effect petrol consumption :p)
still about 650 - 750 on 40l going around 120 - 140 km/h. about 400 - 450 per 45l going 200+ km/h. about 500 - 550 on 40l going aroung 160 km/h. Oh, all with A/C ... about the same on 15" and 16" wheels.
going 200+ km/hr??? are you doing mostly highway driving? our speed limit wont even let us go above 100km/hr on most roads...
i get roughly 400ish off my b20 but im vtecN daily as well
Hey I get just on 500kms to a tank in my CRX (98 Premium fuel)
With 17x7.5 Rims (Its Great!!)
i get around 800km outta my vei but its all stock at the moment
well, assuming that my tank is empty when its at the red zone, i think i can clock up 550km per 40L tank on E10 95 octane ethanol based petrol you can get from united petrol stations.
altho most people are against the use of ethanol, its perfectly fine to use it so long as you dont leave a full tank in there for a month (leave it that long and the ethanol would oxidise to ethanoic acid), that and my motor is a d15b412 dual carby, so whilst the stock intake system is rather cruddy with sucking in air, i make up for that with the oxygen present in ethanol. surprisingly, works better than bp ultimate for me. hopefully i can get better economy once i run the new piston rings and head in.
i get around 800 out of my vei eg
is it true if u use more expensive premium petrol.. u can go more kms?
