Hey guys i need sum help my mechanic said that im gona need 2 replace my injectors and was wondering besides jst getting replacements wat options do i hav in the way of upgrading im also considering a new Fuel rail
hey guys
my mechanic said that i have to replace my headlight..i have the halo or angel eye head lights..how much would a original pair of head lights set me back?..your help is appreciated
cheers
in wa there like 220 a pair there getting quite rare coz honda dont make them anymore
Replace the headlights or just a globe? Why do you need to replace the whole housing?
replace the whole head light..he's a family friend and he said there stuffed.. and have really dodgey wiring and cheaply made..he didnt say what was wrong exactly but on my drivers head light the bulb has actually came loose and its dangeling there (it pisses me off when driving at night)..and the right light has gone out but the blub is fine..so i was just thinking of replacing the whole headlight all together..
Fair enough then. I'd just try a few wreckers then. Theres a few DA's at Pick A Part in Campbelfield if that helps.
P.S if you cant find some good OEM ones, ebay have some nice aftermarket ones, like the black JDM style ones with amber corners and stuff, should set you back around 220 bucks or so
good luck
I have a pair of OEM ones from my da as Im using crystal ones, however keeping onto them incase something happens to the cheapy crystal ones, its always a good idea to keep oem parts
yea im just gonna have a look at some wreckers in adelaide..i know of a couple..if worst comes 2 worse ill have to go interstate or ebay..thanks for your help
judging from your DP, looks like you have same headlights as me
question if you dont mind - on low beam, are the only globes that are on are the parkers and the globes closest 2 the parkers on the outside?
cause for some reason, dont know if its just how it is, thats what its like with me, and theres barely any light, and it shines more downwards.
So with the highbeam, the globes closest to the inner corners and also the other globes next to them are on(theres 2 globes in the middle for mine), which produces good light, but not sure if I wired it wrong
edit : attached a pic if it helps, I appreciate you looking
cheers
For me .. only my back lights are on in parkers.. no lights in the front..
But i looked closesly at the headlgiht and it seems there is a tiny hole for an extra parker light on the front light but its covered up..
I think cause on the other headlight the airbox + battery covers that area of the headlight.. so its practicly impossible to get to.. ?
Maybe its just my DA9 dno bout the others..
(by parker .. i mean like when u ... just turn the lights switch once.. not twice like we do to activate the headlights..)
Yeah I get what your saying
What about 2 clicks (all the way) for normal low beam not high beam, is there only 1 globe on with that (circled in red in the pic)
Just seeing when yours was working, if it is the same as mine, cuz theres not much light for night time
just checked now yep exactly as yours is mate. Low beam is the same thing u circled.. and its not that much light although it is bright than a fair bit of cars.
Thanks for comfirming mate, may have thought I wired it wrong
I've ordered some hyper blue globes from the US, hopefully should get some more light from them
thanks again buddy! good luck finding some new lights
yeh i bought some blue globes recently from ebay, came out wrong now i sent it back jst waiting for them to send the right one.
my headlights are the same as your decription..on low beam theres hardly any light which is pointed downwards like u said..so i drive with my high beams when i can..although saying that with my high beam the globes closest to the inner corners are on but only one globe next to them is lit..
ive also attached pics if it helps..
Thanks so much iggie, helps alot
Yeah mine are the same, and yeah on lowbeam hardly any light and points downwards, really not good night freeway driving cant see more than 3m infront of me
Hopefully new globes will do the trick, otherwise will just put my new globes in the OEM ones and put them back in
I guess these OEM lights are just for looks and not for useability lol
edit : now that ive looked at my lights when i turn the highbeams on, the lowbeams go off, how wierd is that. I was confused how to wire it cuz there was 2 red wires 1 black pretty odd must of mixed then around but meh
no worries, anytime:thumbsup:..yeh i noticed..the lights are wierd..yeh i was confused bout the wiring to coz i wanted to wire them differently n have blue parkers but i thought that i shouldnt touch it incase i screw something up.. are there any other DA9's in adelaide?
I think the AUs Integras (the DA at least) are wired to turn off the lowbeam and make the middle highbeams come on.
I noticed this after I converted my car to B16A using a JDM halfcut, I removed my entire engine bay and dash looms, and replaced them with the JDM ones, this gave me the auto climate control, and now when I hit high beams, I get the proper situation where the bulb switches from Low to High, and the inside high beams are now on a separate switch which is for fog-lights (the glass lenses for JDM are fog, not driving lights), I have 100W bulbs in there so if I want I can have 2 sets of high beam on!
You might want to review your wiring, it sounds like its all a bit wonky
Cheers
Tseesinngwailo
wow great info there tseesingwailo, certainly clears up the confusion
Ill have a look at them asap
cheers
Hey Guys
Ive bought a pair of the black housing "jdm" headlights frome ebay almost 2 yrs ago and havent yet installed them, two reasons mainly...
the first is the amber push bike style reflector where the park light goes... I want to modify that bit out somehow n fit a crystal type reflector in there. i was thinking of opening up an indicator n cuting it up to fit.
the 2nd is they need to be pulled apart and resealed cause it looks like they arent sealed properly (i hate it when it rains for a long periods or when i thoroughly wash the car, bloody fogs up inside my oem ones)
So what is the best way to go about this, what tools will i need to use too.
on a side note. what type of globes are our Highbeam globes, I want to replace them with fog lights while im at it.
Cheers Will.
ps thats my Da9 in the integra pic thread, hope you like it.
www.g2ic.com have some write up on how to remove headlight...actually if u read of on most healight stuff u'll find it..
basically u'll need to heat up the current silicon thats on there, undo the metal clips, use a screw driver and slowly peel it open...too quickly and u'll crack the lense..
with the reflector maybe you should just spray it black..i think its a regulation in US but not in aust to have the reflectors.
go to bunnings to buy some silicon and seal it back up again..do not get the clear ones for window..otherwise u'll have a hard time opening them again IF you need to..i forgot which one i used...
if ur light is same as mine.which doesnt have the projectors...they are H7 bulbs
Cool, yup they are the same unit as yours, h7 for the main globe or for the hi beams?
not too sure..they came with bulbs..never hcanged them...try your stock highbeam..i think they fit too...its been a while..not sure sorry...
no dramas
does any body know what type of globe we need for our highbeams??
H4H Bulb's.
h4h is for the driving light...
but the high beam is a totally different type of globe.
DA9 AUSM STOCK HEADLIGHTS
H4H for Low Beam Light (Main Headlight) (2 clicks)
T10 for Parkers (1 click)
H3 for High beam (pull of stick)
when High Beams are on (this is stock headlight wiring) the Low beam lights turn off

My car with LED T10 Parkers
Luminics Hyper White Low Beams
Luminics Yellow High Beams
(All lights are on as Mate holding high beams not on by click which turns off low beam)
We got H4H bulbs in stock
Hamp/Rybrig Crystal Vision H4H Bulbs
hey guys..
theres been a noise happening wen the car is at idle coming from the hood..but when i push the clutch in it goes away..and when i release the clutch it comes back..its been happening for a while..its starting to get louder..
any ideas of what it could be?..is it anything serious?
Iggie
its more then likely from what u say the thurst bearing or release bearing, its the bearing that spins on the mainshaft and inbetween the pressure plate and clutch fork, when it wears, it becomes noisy you then put preload on the bearing which gets rid of the noise
thank you Stevo!!
and lovin the car runt !!!
nah man just annoying just change it when u do the clutch its all in the kit
dont forget rep ;)
Hey guys.
New problem,
suspension related this time, just got a set of brand new hsd tt, fitted so the tyres are tucking under the guard about half an inch, yes it's on it guts but that's how I like em, problem is it appears that the upper control arms on the from knock on the body over anything really, that's on the hardest setting (pretty soft still). I've seen lower da's n dc's before, how do they do it?? camber arms or something?? I have no idea where to go from here except back up, I don't want to, I'm scared of heights!!
Lol
thanks for the compliment Freek, means alot comming from you :)
cheers Will,
in the US they sell forged knuckles which are shorter and it'll correct the problem..however they are expensive and will end up quite costly with labor as u'll have to machine pump the barring outta the stock kunckle and push it back into the new one, not include the 30 or so screws u'll have to undo + drive shaft to take the hub out first.
changing the uper control arm won't help as most camber adjustable control arms are thicker than stock if not they'll be at least the same in dimension.
best solution is to raise it.
Ahhhh crap!
Not what I wanted to hear at all.
Fitting isn't usually a problem, so if I do this forged knuckle "procedure" um which ones are the good ones to get and from who?
And by knuckle do you mean ball joint??

may i ask...how far is ur bpipe to the ground? lol i m guessing no more than 1 inch...unless its stock exhaust or no resonator...
Nice !!!!!!
looks mint man what bout more offset on the rims?
or wheel spacers?
^ thats ****ing mint, nice DA there... makes me want one ;)
Nice colour!
hey every1 im looking to install a flame thrower.. on my DA9 anyone done this before? and results?? any good...? just after some opininos before i do anything
and before anyone says their illegal.. like neons they AREN'T A DEFECT but.. they are illegal to use while driving (or in gear), only standing still for show.. is okay
It's about $200-250 the part itself just gotta figure out how it goes in and stuff.. lol
A-man... I know I know, that was the initial plan but my wheel guy didnt want to chop up such a beautifully made wheel, didnt matter how much I tried to convince him do it... as for spacers.... Im not too fussed Im not planning on keeping the car, if it doesnt sell, then I'll continue with the build plan.
Jarkz, Ashwee & DA9... Cheers guys really appreciate the compliments
Haha Spoon...
bpipe is cool, not too close but the HKS/Jasma resonator is a fat bastard and regularly cops a scrape, even before the coilovers it would scrap over almost every speed hump.
Im taking it back up about an inch at the rear and half an inch up the front, should sit even n tyres should be level with the guards.
Honestly guys what should I be asking for if I was to throw this up on the market??
the good...
unique colour
aerial, badge holes filled
slim side moulds (bought brand new)
updated bumpers n taillights
new flat side markers
6000k HID kit.
ULTRA MEGA RARE SIZED MUGEN MR5s COMPLETE WITH LUG CAPS!!!
16x7 offset +35 (afaik) Pro restoration, never buckled or cracked, no gutter rash what so ever,
week old hsd coilovers
highflow cat 2 1/4 or 1/2'' from the cat back mandrel bent straight thru muffler ending in a hks muffler, so its quiet til you put your foot down, not drony at all either.
new trailing arm bushes to be fitted too,
new cv joints fitted 10k ago
interior...
seat rails work perfectly.
type r wheel (mint) n gear knob.
aircon works.
the bad:(
window tint faded n lifting on the hatch.
passenger side central locking motor not operating.
high kms 180k
engine leaks oil
major service getting done 200k at Timing belt, plugs, seals, might throw some new leads on too.
so whattya reckon???
man..now u r just creating competition for me..lucky u r in another state..r u? lol
hard to say how much its worth...just put a price up and see what ppl over...but man ur paint is so good looking
Thanks spoon.
Yeah I'm in Sydney, I've been keeping an eye on your one in fs section, i'd pay what your asking for it easy, it's tough to find a da in good nic that has been tastefully modified.
Hope you get what your after.
thx mate. same to u..
only problem is ppl usually buy our cars are looking for cheap cars..most are pretty trashed...and when a nice one comes along ppl dont wnna pay the price...lol they rather buy a cheaper one and end up spending the same about to fix it up..
best of luck to u too
wot nxt on your list?
Hey guys im replacing my fuel pump im putting in a walbro 255 (Gss341) and was wondering has any1 done this it comes with instructions but jst wantd 2 get a bit of a head start any help would b appreciated
have fun dropping the fuel tank and putting it back in :P
that sux !
I can't believe how much they've dropped in the last 18 months. I offloaded my stocko auto daily for $5k within a month. Now there's a half dozen of them listed for under 4k.
Have you had much interest in yours? I'm thinking about trying to get rid of mine shortly because I need something that can tow.
have 4-5 enquires but all of them are like...whats the price with (a list of part) whats the price without (alist of parts)...then nothing..no response...even to say thankyou...
lucky i m in no hurry to sell it...haha
get the flamethrower i wanted to do it to my car i think it would b sweet but never did.
yeh i agree with ur wheel man dont cut up those rims.
and keep the car ;) lol i rekon 6k atleast (over here a good one goes for bout that)
as for fuel pump easy job. just pull the tank out or just drop it on the floor (hoist perfered) wire it up its very easy like wiring a light up basicly cable tie it into the housing put the filter on and away you go
hey guys i had a bit of trouble with getting my front strut brace on today. just asking if its normal? and yes i do have the right bar got a DA9 93
Front strut brace is that the one in the engine?? if so yes .. its a headache gotta unbolt a couple things on the right side.. b4 u can put it on.
Yeah mate, its pretty tough. Search some threads, and they will all say you need to 'pry' the tough end on with a flathead screwdriver, so really what your doing is putting one side on, DONT bolt it up yet, but put the screws on loosely, then with the other side, try and push/pry the other end on with the screwdriver, sort of like stretching it over the hole.
Youll be able to get it eventually.
Also, you may have clearance issues with the valve thingy behind the rocker cover, it may hit the bar, use some spacers under the strut bar mounting points to help clear it so it doesn't rub against
G'luck
yeh thats what i was gonna say.
i gotta do that with all my braces
Yeah I'm in no real rush to sell either, it's a good car, can't complain really, aside from the oil leak there's nothing wrong with it, n that's getting fixed soon any ways.
What I'm after, lol a bike, now that the mrs has her own car, I can finally get a bike, whatever bike really for my L's, not fussed I just hate paying thru the nose for a lams bike. Might just skip the lams bike altogether. Nows not the time to buy a bike anyways, their cheaper in the cooler months.
Well to whoever wants to build another car like mine, goodluck finding another set of 16" mr5's!!!
haha i m selling to get a bike too LOL thought about skipping the probation period...but tbh i've had too many accidents in my life dont wanna go back to hospital again..so rather learn on a 250 first at least for a few months...
gf's getting a mini jcw...so i doubt i'll ever drive my car out anymore haha
I've already got the bike and now I want to sell the Da to get something that can tow bikes....... Once you start riding you realise how boring cars are in comparison.
haha i see.hope not..i only plan to ride just for pure convenience...lives 5 mins from gf..the only time i drive is really just to her house or 10 mins another friends place...dont really need a car myself...
I agree convienience... is excellent, except when it rains. but hey were a dry ass country!! lol.
I used to have a CBR 250rr before I got married (never licenced though) but it was the first toy that went in the compromise process.... dont ask me what she compromised, I dont think she did!!!
I swear I miss riding so much, I might go for a ducati 620 ei, or an RVF 400 if i could find one in decent nic.
bck on topic
oil leaks... where do we find is the most common point of origin??
The most common oil leak on the B-series is from the rubber cam seal at the gearbox side of the exhaust cam. All 5 of the B-series motors I've owned have been leaking from this area in varying degrees of severity. New seals from Honda aren't very expensive and are easy to replace.
Other common spots are the rocker cover seal, the oil pan seal, or the oil pan bolt (stripped threads are common).
Less likely are the crank-end seals, distributor, cam seals at the cam-gear end, or the oil pump. Some motors might leak a little bit of oil from the headgasket but I haven't encountered it.
+1 for oil pump and cam gear end leak. If you dont replace it yourself it will cost you big bucks. Think it cost me 600, that was with new timing belt though.
But yea most common is rocker cover and gearbox end cam seal. Easy to replace
interesting....
by the amount of oil in my bay I think it might be all of those!!
I degreased it a few weeks back to see if i could find the source but a couple of days later it looked like I hadnt degreased it at all.... meh.
Spose im gonna have to do it all in the one hit with the timing belt.
on a positive note....
no more knock from the coilovers or upper arm, i had to raise the ride height up, this made no difference what so ever, so we got back under the guards to see what the deal was by bouncing the car with my own weight at alot of effort, it was then we noticed (we, being Luis from Drift Garage) that the springs were almost totally compressed together to begin with, so over any road surface irregularity they would bind, inturn making a god awful noise.
so he got in touch with otomoto, requested the correct spring which is 175mm (11kg not the 10kg or less i think it had in there to begin with) not the 150mm that was supplied... rocked back over to drift garage and swapped em over my self, took it for a drive, sweetness, adjusted the ride height and breathed a massive sigh of relief.
:)
that's lucky...mine is actually due to camber arm hitting the chassis
anyone wana swap rims im just sick of myn, i got 4 brand new tyres, tread is 99%.. front and back.

Hi guys, just bought a 1990 integra. LOVE the thing!!!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a da9 and da6?
I see a lot of stuff on e-bay for the da6 90-93 but iv'e only read up on the da9.
Thanks for any help.
P.s read the thread from start to finish and all the links, very helpfull. Thanks.
really? lol theres so much more stuff that write DA9 and LS :S ? lol DA6 is old model i believe.. same shit diff smell anything u buy should fit just avoid da6 mechanical stuff.. other than that the body is pretty much the same but maybe the mechanics.. are different.
