most b16a owners also complain that their cars lack torque and power and also believe that it needs a turbo, or a swap to a bigger block to make power. so why would the rx8 be any worse of a car if most b16a owners feel the same.
if you want to compare, then the rx8 is a better package than the civic overall. better factory interior, better factory audio, better factory power, better factory handling and better factory performance. the only thing the civic wins in is better fuel economy, better bang per buck for an old car, and better handling on tight roads, and a better shopping trolley.
stock rx8 will beat a stock eg6 civic on the track (marginally, but still a win) regardless of whether it lacks power or torque. thats despite the fact that the rx8 has more restrictions in place to keep the power down, and the civic having little or no restrictions.
