my friends sister got her civic sport for $32k driveway i think auto and not sure what extras. There was a dealer demo for $29k i saw with <10,000k's forsale i saw at the dealership when i was looking for my car ^^
i think the price you originally mentioned is a rock bottom one, but even with that they still have margin.
It's just kind of difficult to get it because the competition in the local market is not intensive enough. In US it's common to get a 10% off RRP drive away price.
I did a deal for a civic sport, spoiler, mats, tint, bassworks system, bluetooth, and paint protect for around 30k, most dealers are trying to get rid of the older 2007 models so if ur lookin for a new car grab one of them, the 2008 is the same but higher price. ur call.

I thought from a selling point of view you would judge the sales performance based on the quantity of vehicles sold and not the price which the car is sold. I think cars should all be sold at a single price. Then a good sales person would be judged on extra accessories sold, the number of units sold and ofcourse customer feedback.
By the sounds of it UNLS1 I would think that you do well on all fronts.
I think that people have given a bad name to the car sales industry and as such treat IT with prejudice. To say that not giving everyone a lowest possible price is silly. In sales u give the best outcome to both parties. If it was the same as every industry, food, health etc, cars would be marked at Maximum profit, and no bargaining would be possible. People dont consider this and think if they dont get it at a loss to the company they got ripped off, which isnt fair to anyone. Long gone are the days of "dodgy" sales people, because the consumer is smarter and the industry has changed. The profit margins arent as big as people think.
And the performance is based on both numbers and quantity, no sense moving 500 cars for a profit of $1, when u could move 1 car for a profit of $500.

I would be happy buying a car at RRP as long as there was decent customer service to go with it. Going by what you read on these forums, and from my own experience, dealing with Honda customer service isn't the most pleasant experience.
honda are big on customer service, evey customer gets their survey and believe me everyone sent back out manager finds out about, if its not perfect and the customer is not happy with the purchase experience then boy do we hear about it.
there are heaps of great honda dealers around ive been with honda for 3.5 years and have met some great sales people.
some of the bad ones give alot of us a bad name.
as far as customer service goes, if i want to go to a retail shop say to buy a fridge, if i meet a sales person, they treat me well, make me feel like my money is very important and can help me understand the product and go through it in great detail ill buy it.
its better leaving knowing u have had fantastic customer service and u leave with a smile on ur face knowing u are 100% happy. its the same in all sales. cars esp.
