17x9 +45 is a very nice fitment. i would go with that.
it also sticks out more than the second set.
a little modification would be required to fit e.g rolled guards, bumper tab relocated, neg camber.
17x9 +45 is a concave face. i think looks nicer than the normal ones but wont clear brake caliper upgrades such as spoon.
not sure what the face of second set is.

If your plan is to get spoon calipers, get the second set. But if it is all for looks, buy the first set. The second set won't look as good as both are convex.
But that's my person opinion, if you like convex go for it.
The fitment will be very similar, the 1st set will stick out approx. 3mm and 1mm more on front and rear respectively then 2nd set.

Maybe i brought this thread back from dead....
i was wondering what would be the most aggressive offset i could go if i want 17x9 all around?
thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers

^^^ As low in offset as you want. People run 17x9 +22 te37 which is quite nice. All depends on how much work you willing to put into your fenders, tyre size, camber etc.
I know you ask for 9" but here's a reference on how crazy you can with 9.5" +20 (+35 with 15 mm spacer)

WOW that's aggressive!!!! I recently purchased S2k and i have spare sets of 17x9 with 20+ offset. I wanted to run 255 for track use. what sort of work should i do?
or would it be easier to sell the set and buy another set?
any advice would be appreciated
Cheers

if you want to run 255's with a +20 either get bolt on guards, or cut and weld guards.
-
That's to the front I assume? How about the rear?
Thanks :)
-
same all round.
guards will need to be extended about aprox 20 - 25mm to clear

On the subject, I bought some Mugen MF10's, was wondering, are these: http://www.lugshack.com/Black_McGard..._p/65557bk.htm sutible for the car / wheels?
-
yes honda is M12 x 1.5 they will fit
-
Nice!, yea little dissapointed the MF10's aren't that aggressive, but oh well... 17" by 7.5" +52 front and 17" by 8.5" +59 rear...
