Update on pads:
getting some accord euro endless pads :)
will keep you guys updated on the 25th of this month and the 2nd of oct :)
endless mm......
I'm assuming modification is needed to fit those?
ok, back to forum, after busy week:(
if you want get some "impact" on ur brakes without upgrade to BBK, just change the brake pads and upgrade ur brakeline to SSBH. This is the cheapest and easiest way.
and then, i just received my Type-R (FD2R) brake cooling slate this morning, and the supplier said : this also can be use for our stock brakes to get better braking. But i don't believe him because our stock caliper is open caliper (diff. with brembo/spoon/etc--> closed caliper) so stock caliper don't need extra cooling air. anyway, u can give them a try
just 2 cents
brake cooling slate??wad is that?
endless euro pads only need anti rattle shim to be slightly modded cause it doesn't sit 100% flush. Though it's a 99% fit from what I saw that is without modding it
does anyone have either a SRI or CAI on there Civic Sport? Any pics?

for channeling the air from front straight to brakes caliper.
at least need foglight side duct or foglight area been cut off
but my personal thought, it's only effective with BBK, not with stock brakes.
are you going to drive your fd on track or something, so you need brake cooling
or its only add on accessories
just get some open spoke wheels = cooling
got my fire extinguisher today :D
got to find somewhere to bolt it onto though ugh
ah k, i just dont want to drill into something unpleasant.
though if you use self tapping screws, might not do as much damage as a drill could.
hmm
if we have BBK, better we have this cooling slate. don't have to on track, highly recommended for street use.
and it's not add on accs, all FD2R have this cooling slate for the Brembo
it's diff. the air cooling for wheels (side and bottom) can channel the air to stock caliper. but it's not enough for BBK coz the only open area is at the front of the caliper.
(see pic)

Yea but i mean for the AUDM civics...
It will be just an accessory for us. I know that the FD2R has them stock standard but there is only 1 FD2R here in AUS and that is at IMG
who has brembos on their civic? anyways...anyone know where to get the 1.8L i-vtec badge? like the ones in asia...coz i reckon they better than vti or vti-l...lol...
hey guys...so what happens if i want to debadge (and how as well) and then i want to put the badges back on?
debadge is easy. Hair dryer for about 30 secs then use dental floss. Metho to remove tape.
To put badge back on, buy some thin 3m tape and stick on the back of badge. If you want to stick back badges like CIVIC badge, it will take some work as you will need to follow the shape of the badge.
anyone got coilovers in their fd?? if so what kinda and how much...and are they any good?
danny... here are some threads that you might interested in:

got my pads today :)
have to break in for about 300ish km before i can give them a good stomp and see hwo they are like lol
hmmm the smash repairer who was fixing my bumper at that time said no problem. and I have aksed few ppl about the result, and they cant tell the diff. well a bit diff (only a pro photographer said it though :p)
next will be a bit of CF look on the supossed to be CF bit :p
endless ccx,
bit dopey in the morning when its cold, but after they warm up i can already tell they are quite good lol
cant wait to STOMP it though :P
For anyone who wants to do a pad swap later on in fd1's and wants info one what pad and what anti rattle shim im using:
- pads are from accord euro (CL7)
- anti rattle shim is from a BB4 Prelude.
With these parts, you dont need to modify or much around with anything. just straight swap and fit.
will give you guys a review as soon as i get it out on barbs! :)
i reckon there is still a lack in aftermarket parts for the fd1...im looking at getting headers and fullcat back but all i can think of is a custom made one...and also...has anyone thought of putting a k20a in it? :D haha...that would be awesome
yeah, somehow ppl from overseas (e.g. Singapore) got more mods parts than us... this forum says it all...http://eightgc2.forumup.com
So hopefuly in the near future our OZ Honda traders can supply parts from Singapore as well
howdy lads.........Took the car out for a quick thrash on sat morning after putting around 200km on them.
Ride is about 15-20% better in terms of bumpiness believe it or not. I think it's due to just the fact of having more tread and maybe stiffer side walls. Steering and suspension wheel doesn't seem to vibrate as much now.
Road noise is still the same on hwy speeds.
GRIP - It's improved heaps. Before if I power out of a tight corner I can get the inner wheel just spinning because it was just loosing traction. Now smashing it mid corner on exits theres so much grip I can even steer the car into a tighter line with NO UNDERSTEER..........I'm pretty impressed and thats with the tyres not fully worn in yet I'm sure.
Looking forward to taking it to wakie soon to see if i can hammer a 1:17 out of it..........pipedream : ).
man, i was on stock pads and i was the track for about 20++ laps....coudnt get enough of it...since there was only us 3 on the track that day plus a mirage testing their settings....
damn thats not too bad,
ccx were 320$ + 150ish for machining + fitting etc
are you serious?............maybe I was exagerating as it might have taken me about 8 laps to totally smoke up the stock pads on the 06-sports we had. came into the pits and I saw smoke from the front and I was pissing myself..........hahahha went out and had a look and the pads were kinda on fire almost. got a 1:20xx that time.
yah, a bit exy but wasnt going to go out and not have fun with stock pads :P
plus i couldnt find ANY OTHER PADS for Fds lol
but to be honest, once they warm up they are damn good.
even if it is like freezing cold, if you drive normally, they are no problem at all.
sample pic (not mine), may be this weekend will install to my car

FYI. need Front Mugen skirt.
is that rubber??
material is generally abs or PU. You probably will want to paint it as the plastic black looks ugly. I almost bought one but the price was not attractive. Maybe DMX has a sexy price? :p
lol i love sexy prices...i just want to sex them!
anyone know how i can get a full catback for fd1? like kakimoto or j's or something...i know they got some for fd2r but if i put in fd1 i have to modify which = loss...so sad...can't do much to fd1 in terms of power...
just get custom one done..
does custom guarantee power gain?? not just sound?
can you even feel 10kW gain?
10kw is a bit, is probably the most you guys can get from NA mods to your FD's maybe 15 if your luky with a full IHE and ECU tune setup....
i was reading somewhere on the 8th gen forum that someone put air intake, fujitsubo catback and greddy ECU or something along those lines and tuned it and got +85hp...pretty good ay?
why doesnt someone get that 3000 turbo kit for the r18a since wer talkin bout power....
there is a turbo kit for the r18a ... but the power to cost ratio, probably not worth it!!!hahhaaha
has anyone herd of anyone rebuilding their r18 to handle more boost?
or is the engine still too new for aftermarket internal components
because the D16 (civic eg) is also SOHC VTEC yet its not too uncommon to come across a turbo one
anyone know if the EG recaro rails will fit fd1??
anyone know how to change a normal number plate to a slim one? is there a special tool to undo those screws on the font and will it fit perfectly on a stock front bumper or do you need to buy a new slim mount for it? Also, when getting a new slim one does one have to trade in the old one if it's the same digits or does it just replace the other?
Check out my latest shot of me and my friends car.

that car park in that pic looks awlfully like crown?.. lol.. hey.. i saw a picture of an fd with euro luxury rims.. the 07 luxury rims..? can anyone help me find it?
nice capture lol.. i'm sure i've seen your fd on burwood highway before.. nice rim and lugs!
warwick108: hi there, if these are the rims your after i can hook you up with a set. its without tyres though plus any sort of OEM honda wheels if my trader has them in stock.
let me know with around what price your thinking of.

hey guys...just wondering if anyone could help me out with this spoon BBK + 300mm mugen rotor system... http://www.civicfd-sg.com/viewtopic....aca89d08d9e740 can confirm that this fits on fd1? and what size caliper etc...and is our brake system the same as dc5r?
as stated, it's for FD. so it's fit lah....:D
spoon bbk fit ANY 300 mm rotor. don't forget add $150 for shipment, it's 30kg weight (all), you can't hand carry this and flight luggage quota only 25 kg max.
good luck for buying 2nd bbk, make sure the piston still good, quite risky to get jammed:(
thanks dmx but i was thinking buy new from dealer here coz he wants to swap for euro R kit. just to confirm BBK=big brake kit? im just guessing here...and the fd size is 5x 114.3? and also which spoon BBK? mono or twin block? mono right? just need some confirmation here.
i bargain 1200...lol..no wonder he mad to me...lol
i think, u will get brackets from spoon caliper. if not...hmmmm... u need to do custom brackets, hardly to buy.. brakepad usually come with calipers.
basiclly, the main parts : caliper+rotor. pad and brackets usually come with caliper. and if u already upgrade to BBK, better u change ur brakeline to SSBH. u can get goodbridge or corsport (both USA) or Mugen.
rememebr BBK is the most expensive stage in "normal" modification (don't mention about engine) and it's related to death and life...:D
i'll use the life and death part as an excuse to upgrade...:D also...the trader is asking me what thickness the brake disc is?...and if it's the same as dc5r?
so anyone found anything we can do to the fd1 performance wise??
you can always get that turbo kit from taiwan...........
