hey, has anyone know of how to put an illuminated section around the ignition barrell? - to explain, like a circle of light which will light up when you unlock the car or something.. exactly the same as what is around the cigarette lighter :)

ok i have a dilemma - i want to black out my grill - BUT my dad wants me to keep the stock grill - so he said to get an aftermarket one... ok i dont like the mugen grill, would rather have like a typeR one or one like rene's cf grill, but i want it BLACKK cos i think just a CF grill among a normal black hood etc would look out of place? Soooo anyone got any ideas on what i can do? Just want a black grill but not the stock one lol...
shop around for another oem fd1 grille and paint that one black? LOL
or get an fd2r grille and paint that black?? i dunno... JDM Concept selling some fd2r grilles on ebay

$250 tho..
hmm.. i found a carbon fiber one on ebay for abt 250 including the red badges - but im not sure if just a carbon grill would look good with no carbon hood or anything?

wat u guys think?
yess, i agree.. dont bother spraying your OEM stock grill, keep it aside
ive got a FD2R grill, sprayed it black matching the car colour, and put on aluminium meshes on behind and sprayed that black too.. last addition is place a genuine red H on the grill.. very nice.. HOWEVER, im not entirely too sure if the FD2R grill would fit on nice onto the OEM front bumper.. u may need to DIY to get it to fit unless u go get a FD2R front bumper.
u can get them to fit, but u will need to have some sort of adhesive like double sided 3m tape on the bottom part of the grille to hold it securely against the oem fd1 bumper.
im looking to spray my oem grille because im just that cheap and dont want to spend the extra $250, especially after ive already bought red fd badges :p
btw johnny, what was the painting process? couple coats of primer then few coats of black spray paint followed by coats of finish? any particular brands?
it was primed a few times, then 3 coats of black, then 2 coats of finish.. dont know the particular brand coz i had it done by my uncles mates
get from www.drm-motorsport.com
250 incl. red badge ? grab it.
red badge only = $70
so CF grille = 180 ? --> (if real CF)
if only FD2R top grille (1 pc) -- dark chrome ones - WONT fit our FD bottom grille.
you also need FD2R bottom grille (mesh ones) to match with this $250 FD2R top grille.

but red badges are replicas - but i don't see what the point of having genuine red badges is anyway if i have the chance to grab some reps - and yeah the cf is genuine.
just got the email from drm on the mugen grill like rene's - 375 inc. shipping - but no red badges included.. wow thats a lot lol.
does anybody know how to apply leather trim to the door panels of the FD? im gonna to try and DIY this. apparently ur just supposed to use like contact glue or sumthin and just glue the trim inserts over the standard ones?
does that mean, i just chuck glue on the oem door trims and slap the new ones over them? that just sounds a bit dodgy to me. is there a better way to do it? like to glue the new fabric (leather) behind the door panel or sumthin? has anyone done it before??
All i can say is good luck :)
