Dedicated DA9 Q & A thread

hey boys .. gota quick question..
i flew over a speed hump .. literally flew.

Bumper didnt hit the ground or nothing.. but something came loose? not sure what it is.. but the Right and Middle section of my bumper is VERY loose.. wobbles n shit when i move it with my hand..
all the screws and shit are on there..

Any ideas? is there something in between? When i hold the side near the wheel up tightly.. then the bumper becomes nice an tight so i thouht it was there.. i just re-did the screws there fine? its still loose as ?

can anyone help?

edit: by right i mean DRIVER SIDE

There is a bit of white plastic that connects to the chassis where that 2 screws on the side goes in, that probably came lose on the inside, undo the 2 screws and pull the bumper out a little and you'll see if its close ( it should be screwed into the chassis with another 2 screws...i swear our cars uses too many screws nuts and bolts)
or undo your indicator light and remove it, look inside you'll see there should be 2 big size14 bolt that bolt something to the chassis, those might have came lose.
or else, the rail frame that holds the bumper (which is the thing the 2 big size14 bolts are for) either broke somewhere
or open ur bonnet, look inside the bumper maybe the bumper is not connected to the frame rail anymore

have u got a digital copy of the da9 user manual.. it shows everything you need to take every part of the car to peices and back again..

google integra ls or 1989-93 integra user manual.. theres a site that lets you download the zip file for free then you just extract it all and it comes up with PDF files of everything from body to electricals to engine

if somebody knows the website that'd be alot more help

that black cylinder you are referring to i believe its the fuel filter...its a MUST dude! lol

honestly, anything that you've stripped out in the past is NEEDED. unless its the air resonator pipes and stuff like that..

my suggestion is..if you don't know what it is...you'll most likely need it

it's on the passenger side.

Carbon Canister does it connect with vacumn lines to set of 2 solenoids?
if so u kind of need helps with fuel economy bit and if u get epa'd ull need it

That's the 1, only asking coz I've got a blox intake manifold n I can't see where to connect all tho hoses to, so I was just thinking of taking it out

i baught an engine of a forum member, and apparently it has a blox intake manifold on it, (its defenetly not a standard one).
i just got around to instaling the motor last friday, havent even wired the car up or started it because im to busy with work.
so i cant realy tell you much yet

hey man i got a skunk2 intake manifold, and blox intake is pretty much a replica
and im still using that carbon canister im actaully still using all of em except for some of the water hose ones, as im not using fitv and cold starter helper
ill take a pic if u want but yeh im using all the solenoid valves and map sensors

ohh nah adam the guy owns a DA he bought this one for parts and is stripping it

and alos another thing, hows your accelerator cable instaled?
because mine seems to be facing the opposite way =S

hey guys, asking on behalf of a friend. has anyone installed dc2 tail-lights onto their da? is there much work to get them to fit? thanks

i havnt done it personally, but to do it ud have to play with the rear side panels (the ones that go from the roof to the rear and frame around the door). Boot lid.. and that stupid panel between the bootlid and bumper would have to be played with too.. but thats a maybe

You'll definately have to play with those side quater panels first.. they dont just fit in there, its a totally difference size in corners but length wise im not sure.

dc2 tails on a Da, seen it done, dont quite like it, Its not that hard, just alot of measuring griding and flush work :)

hmmm sounds a little fiddly hey...would you guys know of any who's done it? any links perhaps. thanks guys

hey much improve with that intake setup?

umm lot more throttle response, got fair bit of power, but needs a proper tune i reckon to see the full benefits
on that note i can rape a commodore
i got alot more power up top, bit too far on the power band for stock tune, hence why i wanna tune and raise my rev limit a bit, as i got a rebuilt engine anyway so it can take a bit more ;)

im also running a full exhuast, extractors, hi flow cat
as u always need a full systemt o see it, just intake wont make much diff, u got to be able to let it out

well currently i do custom exhaust...very very hi flow cat:cool:...intake...how much was your intake manifold with the throttle body? sigh..i m still stuck between whether to keep modding it or not...

umm, think i spent 600 all up, all from the states the skunk2 intake was pretty cheap. throttle body was same price but yeh :)
i like it looks awesome, still prettyin up my engine bay but yehall working well, illk have my gates racing radiator hoses up soon and my new 3 point strut

What 3 point???? Custom????? ever since i saw the one in the states had one made i wanted to do it..but never got off my as to do it

yeh will be custom, bought one for the dc2 and just gonna cut and weld to make fit, :D shall be awesome

Looks like a CD5 stock rear lip to meee

if i put eg forks, and itr rear LCA i will fit Dc2 style suspension right?

but what about if i put eg forks, and eg rear LCA, will i be able to fit eg style suspension?

I know dc2 suspension does fit.. but your car.. might be different height levels. but straight fit buddy.

as for the EG, i know EK springs fit.. so if EK springs are the same as EG your right :)

if you look back a little, this has already been covered many times, but then again going through 190 pages is quite a lot.

if you are using DC2 parts stcik with EG bits as they are identical

Ek is a little different but if you are using coilover its adjustable anyway

yes i will be running full coilovers,
just asking coz im thinking EG parts are probably cheaper than ITR parts, lol

yeah i m using eg forks in front and after market LCA for the rear which is eg/dc compatible

if you are using coilovers you won't have to worry as its height adjustable anyway

neither will fit for the front, you can only get one thats made expecially for DA, I am using a camber&caster bolt for DA from K-Mac. doubt you can find them anymore i was lucky to get mine.

you can look at Skunk2 they make front camber arms for DA, ask Yonas @ JDMYard he can get them for you. not cheap tho...but worth it

as for rear camber arms, eg/dc will fit.

The Skunk2 camber arms for DA are actually ED/EF arms that they advertise as being suitable for the DA. It's a lie and disgusting false advertising.

Unless you're very, very low, a little bit of camber isn't going to hurt your tyres so long as your bushings and alignment solid. A better reason to buy the arms is for more negative camber.

cheers, well main priority is getting my car running at the moment, was just after some options with suspension.

ill probably look in the US market for front camber kits, hopefully ill get lucky.

Hey guys, just picked up a DC2 today and now my sister owns my DA. I have some aftermarket parts if anyones interested. Bride replica seats in black with custom welded rails to suit DA, a little bit of sun fade. Will also have some Eibach Racing springs only about 9 months old, very strong and flat in the corners without compromising much ride comfort. also have some 18" 4x100 wheels that came with the DC2 that have near new tyres, they are like a ten spoke aluminum faced rim thats painted black on the inside, would suit anything euro style or if you're going for the bling look.

Seats: $400 with rails.
Springs (should be off the DA soon): $250 (they are worth a bit more than this! sh*ts all over stupid king springs and pedders in handling. plus i don't even think they are available new anymore.)
Wheels and Tyres: $600! one tyre will need replacing or fixing due to a few buldges in the side but the rest still have practically new tread. tiny bit of gutter rash on the front ones.

PM me for pics and if you're interested. :) will post an ad in the parts for sale section as soon as i'm allowed.

So sad to not own my DA anymore but at least it's still in the family. Now time to start up a new project! :) Thanks for all the help you guys have given me!

yeah sorry dude, it's really tedious to post a set of seats. but if you wanna drop past canberra sometime they're all yours. :) i'll take some pics when we get daylight again so you can get a good look at em. the seat rails are custom welded DC2 ones so bare in mind they do fit firmly in the DA but they only bolt into the floor at three points each. Although it feels exactly the same and you'll never notice it. They feel amazing in the corners!! + guaranteed they are much more comfortable than the stock ones ;)

ALSO the suspension isn't for sale anymore sorry guys. :(
