the liberty wasn't a clear cut winner, it was just the choice as a drivers car. don't get me wrong- subaru liberty's are great cars. my mum has one- its really good to drive, despite the lack of power (RX 2.5 115kw). grip is awesome. i'd have the euro over a 2.5 liberty anyday tho
however, i've driven the new 180kw 3.0R Liberty- its excellent. loads of power on tap, traction is phenominal, and a 13(!) speaker mcintosh stereo however the steering is too light and lacks feel. i also sat in a 3.0R-B, and the gearshift is half as nice as the euro- the throws are a mile apart, and it feels like it 'grinds' into every slot...
