Cause that only happens at a standing start LOL.
see i did that once well the third story i decided to rev and dump at 9grand for a laugh with a mate cause he wanted to see what it would do and so did i.. i kind of let the clutch off easy but not to easy but not to heavy.. and all i could smell was clutch for days on end.. i've never done something silly since but then again i've never had a bad launch where all i could smell was clutch.. not even my first drag.. which was roughly 6months ago as i just got my p's :P
could be bald tyres??
You must side step the clutch. Just let it pop out ; you think your leg is just as fast, but trust me its not.
And you wonder why you needed a new clutch.... :p

lol what is this side step thing? i've never heard of it unless i have but have a different name for it lol? nah the tyres arnt bald even my last set before i blew them were fine and they did it.. now im on my stockies lol.
Side step is exactly that.
Foot on the clutch, holding it in. Instead of releasing the clutch with your foot, just move it off to the left and let the clutch pop out itself aka side stepping.
do you move it off fast? or rip it off? lol.. this sounds something i need to get used to lol.
The deal is, the clutch will pop out faster than your left leg can lift it off, so its gotta be fast.
Just hold it in, then side step & move your leg to the foot rest whilst ... now reaching for 2nd gear and about to go clutch in again.
i see sounds difficult, is it worth trying at low revs till i get the feel? and does it jump like a b*tch? lol.
Just think about it as your about to do it and remember what to do.
Clutch in.
Rev to 7K or whatever.
(handbrake if necessary)
Sidestep clutch.
Hold steering wheel.
Reach for 2nd gear.
Clutch in.
Concentrate on driving / shifting.
