Hi Beeza. The car is currently in a workshop undergoing some work on the transmission.:thumbdwn: It suddenly decided to jump out of second gear during my last event.I had hoped it was just an engine or transmission mount failure but it seems as if 7500 rpm on a very rough track using rally tyres and a tight Kaaz LSD was too much for the transmission. I have had to quickly sort out my semi retired Mk 1 Swift GTI for my next event.
Damn, hopefully the damage won't be too much.
Suzuki swifts go strong too,got any pics of her?
It sounds like a lot of fun, what your doing :)
Just thought I would let you all know that I did my little bit for the Honda brand by winning the 2009 Victorian Club Autocross Series up to 1600 modified class. :) I managed two firsts, two seconds, four thirds and two sixths (one of the sixths was in my Swift GTI after I broke the Honda transmission) and with just the eleventh round to go at Shepparton I cannot be beaten. (We drop our worst two results for the year before the points are tallied). I am pretty happy with the result although there was a few times I got beaten by current Australian Rally Champion Simon Evans and his just as quick brother Eli in obviously inferior cars. (brings you back to earth a bit...gulp:o). All in all though if someone had asked me when I was 18 years old and starting out in motorsport if I thought I would still be reasonably competitive some 42 years later (I recently turned 60:eek:) I don't think I would have answered yes LOL. It was a very enjoyable year travelling all over Victoria and even interstate to attend events with a great bunch of drivers . I plan to do it all again next year.;)

Hey Steve, congratulations on a fine effort. Especially considering your age (no criticism intended there), as I know how hard it can be preparing a car, getting to events, driving, and getting it all back home in one piece. I'm not quite 60 (a couple of years left yet); it can really tax your stamina and health, not to mention the hip-pocket. Again, an impressive effort and well done.
Peter
Thanks Peter
I checked your age before responding and I can understand why you made the point about it getting a bit more difficult as you get older LOL. I think the hardest part is maintaining your confidence level. If you make a mistake you immediately wonder if you might have committed the same error 30 years ago and a lack of confidence in motorsport is not a good thing...:o
Steve
Wow,awesome!!
