I think Aaron is right, the #1 input bearing is usualy 1st to go as it's the furtherst from the oil.
FWIW, we charge $400 gearbox in & out (R&R)
Then B-series gearbox overhaul is an extra $250 + parts
The #1 input bearing is approx $30 from CBC or other bearing supplier.
You'll need to check the bearing at the rear of the input shaft also, as this may be gone too.
Re reverse,
Replacing the 1st ~2nd hub ring & sleeve should sort this out.
These are approx $385 from JDM Yard or JDM Concept etc
Use that as a guide to compare the cost of a replacement box, say DC2 ITR...
Bare in mind your existing box still has a value & can be sold off to recover some costs.
